Phono stage for second system

My winter project is here.  Trying to set up a second system for my home office.

Will by mainly a vinyl system.

Space is an issue as the room is only 12 by 14.

Any suggestions for a small foot print phono stage in the 3-4 K price range.  Probably solid state, but open to tubes as long as the unit is one box solution.

FYI This months Sterofile loved up the PrimaLuna phono stage. I’m somewhat dubious about most reviews but not by John Atkinson.

Has anyone used/heard the Sound Smith Phono stages?

I used the SoundSmith MCP-2MK2 for several years and I thought it was great, especially when used with SoundSmith cartridges. I’ve since upgraded to a Modwright PH9.0 x which was an incremental improvement to my ears. I’m also cycling between several carts.

The Sutherland Duo is $4K new, they are sometime available used at <$2K. 

It is an excellent unit, though surpassed by the Dos Locos at about $10k.

With the right cartridge there are other current mode Sutherland phono stages in you budget.
