ELAC Miracord 50H2 turntable questions

I have a Miracord 50H in storage. Bought at my local Goodwill for $18  + tax. Lost the headshell before my move to Florida. I told my brother to look around for it. This TT is idler drive via a rubber/metal wheel. If the 50H sits around unused too long the idler wheel can develop a flat spot on the rubber. That will cause a rhythmic noise when playing LPs. Same thing happened to one of my Dual TTs. Unless you can find someone to resurface the idler wheel you will have to buy a new or used replacement. I did that for my Bogen/Lenco B61.

Rocky, more than 1.5 years ago you started a thread on a Miracord with different problems. If you’re still referring to that unit, then you didn’t buy it last week. Or is this unit new to you?
