Anyone ever compare a Berning ZH-270 to the current production amps from Linear Tube Audio?
I asked Mr. Berning, but he claims he's never compared them.
I know this as an old post but I also had the question of how these two amps compared. The only way will be to actually compare the two when a couple of owners can get together. I'm not surprised that David Berning declined to answer, it's an absolute no win situation for him regardless of how he answers. If his older stuff still sounds better than LTA ( and it might due to the necessary profit margins for LTA ) that really isn't fair to LTA. That being said I will still say that he's a brilliant designer and a gentleman who truly cares about his customers, past and present. Happy listening to all.
