Why the hate for mcintosh amps?

Why dont people,like mcintosh? Who motivates this?

so what are the alternatives??

Much of the cost goes into the look/meters IMHO. In terms of 2A, nobody looks to buy stereo equipment as a positive investment. If you are already thinking of getting rid of it when you buy it, something is wrong.

Doesn't sound any better than the B&K stuff I replaced but like the looks and love the tone controls but way simpler for the old lady to operate so she isn't always bugging me.
