Whats on your turntable tonight?

For me its the first or very early LP's of:
Allman Brothers - "Allman Joys" "Idyllwild South"
Santana - "Santana" 200 g reissue
Emerson Lake and Palmer - "Emerson Lake and Palmer"
and,
Beethoven - "Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major" Rudolph Serkin/Ozawa/BSO
slipknot1
I just finished up Titus Andronicus - "The Monitor". It is definitely not an audiophile record as far as sound quality. The lead singer appears to be completely tone deaf. It's long (double LP). And its a concept album. But I loved it!

If you like punk, Irish sounding guitar riffs, US Civil War History, or concept albums in general. Check it out, via streaming first, before you invest in the LP. The LP does sound a bit better than the Spotify Stream (as it should).

Titus Andronicus Forever! (name of track 2, side 1)

Not sure what Pro-Ject you have, but my old Pro-Ject Debut Carbon had no VTA adjustment, and I would actually use various mats to change it, or when I went to the acrylic platter, none. As I said, and Steve pointed out, his MyMat is very thin, and should have little to no effect as mentioned.

Here’s the thing, the difference between a 140 and 180 gram LP is probably more a difference than the MyMat, and I know I don’t change the VTA when playing one or the other. In other words, the difference is too small for the hassle to make the adjustment for the weight of the vinyl I play at any particular time.

Steve’s mat is great, and something you should try. Good thing is, it can go on a new table/platter should you decide to move on from the Pro-Ject. Nothing lost, only gained.
@bkeske  - Thanks for your comments about the Pro-Ject and the MyMat based on your experience. Happy New Year to you and yours.....
