Heavy Center Channel Wall Mount

I used a swivel tv mount for my center. It worked superbly. It had 5 bolts for the wall to secure it - and aa strap down so that the speaker did not vibrate back and forth so as to damage the bottom's finish. I've since changed things around & it's just sitting in a box, but it was superb at the time.

I have used Omnimount with great success...there are versions with lag bolts that can screw into wooden studs...this can easily hold your center channel. Omnimount design stuff for speakers weighing up to several 100's of pounds...

I went to all those websites, and none of them have what I'm talking about. Omnimount does have some neat stuff, but still, nothing that works for me. Nothing even close. I don't want to have to build something!

I was looking for the same, for my center channel and surrounds. My B&W center weighs some 30 lbs, and I was going to use 40 lbs monitor speakers for the surrounds.

I had to scrap the plan because I couldn't find anything aesthetically pleasing, and also functional. I ended up going with in-wall Paradigm. The center channel is now sitting on the top of the rack instead of being wall mount below my plasma.

For center channel I was going to use Omnimount MWFS series. They have glass shelves, and there is no strap. The speaker would be just sitting on the glass shelf mounted on the frame mounted on a stud. I don't sleep under my plasma, so I don't have to worry too much about securing the speaker.

And for the surround I was going to use something like Omnimount ETV13 or TVM13. They are designed to hold 50 lbs CRT TVs. You'll have to come up with your own strap to secure the speaker on the shelf though.

Just to add closure to this, I picked up a 13" Peerless CRT TV mount for $14 off of PartsExpress.com. I was going to buy it elsewhere until I remembered PartsExpress. Awesome. Why doesn't some company market CRT racks as center channel speaker mounts? Seems like an unfilled niche to me.
