Thank for the reply's! I had my Omens imaging like crazy, and think that is more a matter of "fine tuning" setup. I will think about the Lore's, but think the Omen Defs are the way to go for me.

I have a buddy with the Super Fly's, and he is not 100% sure the SF's are much if any better than the Omens. But we have
never A/B'd them here, but he did listen to both at RMAF
and as he put it, the Omens were the Bell of the Ball.

Hard to say!? It is a great price on the Lore's though so
we'll see.
Hi Gpowered, Thanks for the reply. Yes, actually more dynamics (among other things)are what I am hoping for over the standard Omen's not that they need it but if they build it that's what you would want right?

The Omens are very refined also and I wonder what the Lore's can bring to the table compared the the Omens based on their very similar designs. The Defs would seem (at least to me)to bring just a whole lot more out of what the standard Omen offers without changing the sound. I think of it as "twice the Omen".

But, I will give Tekton a call tomorrow before I order the Def's just to see, as the other option is...Lore's & a sub.
( Sub for Movies)

Thanks again!
Zman and Gpowered,

Please post any further thoughts when you can. I'm trying to get a handle on how they may sound. I owned (just sold) Omens and loved them so much I am ordering a pair of Omen Defs tomorrow, but even before I sold the Omens, I was thinking on just adding a sub (mainly for HT) and being done.
So, I wonder about the Lores since they are on sale, and assume they will be more similar than not to to regular Omens.
I'll probably stick with the Omen Defs as I think they will be just outstanding, but wonder about the Lores and a sub!?
Gpowered,

Sounds like the Lores are super sweet! With these speakers, it's all about set up. I to found 4' off the back wall to be the spot with the Omens. I went with the Omen Defs after all.
Ya know, I have to chime in here and say, I to am happy as a clam with my Zu Omen Defs. I am on the same page as Gpowered
with his Lores!
I have heard many systems, and even though I am a speaker
W----, I cannot see myself buying another speaker (Unless it's a bigger & better Zu). In fact, I am on my second pair
of Omen Defs, breaking in with about 70 hours on them now.
Amazed every day! That's something that wore off after a week with most every other speaker I have ever owned!
Hey Sebrof,

I started with the Omen, then got a pair of Omen Defs, and it was "WOW". The Omens on steroids without sacrificing
anything. Just more of everything. Then traded them with
about 300 hours for a pair in Ghost black, and now have about
80 hours or so, and they are coming around just like the first pair! I love speakers, and kind of hate the idea of not playing with any more, but these are so amazing I don't want any other speakers. I will only move up the Zu line if my ship ever comes in.
Omens congested suggest they were probably not set up right.
The only time I had them sounding congested was when there were no spikes under them, and when they were on spikes but set to low. They are bottom ported and very sensitive to
floor distance. When right, they are very electrostatic like
and not boxy or congested sounding at all. Just saying! :o)
MT,

Sounds like it as mine are on the warmer side of
neutral to neutral. Toe in/out changes that dramatically.
And/or electronics.
Hi,

Just want to make one observation regarding the Omens. BTW..thanks for the review on the Lores, they sound like great speakers!

First, when I had the regular Omens ( I now have Omen Defs)
I found that the height of the spikes made a difference in the sound of the speaker (mostly in the bass) in that if to low or to high, it could make the bass less solid, and a
tad ragged sounding, and it could sound a bit congested.
Once I got that right, no problems.

Also, I played with tilt, but also found that they sounded best "level". Not sure why, but
maybe something to do with the finger ports at the bottom
loading the speaker differently from front to back?? Again
not sure why, but that is what I heard. They are not a plop
& play speaker for sure and require a little experimentation
to get just right. I have solid tight & deep bass, but have
heard them "not at their best also".

Anyway, I have never heard the Lores so cannot compare but
may have a buddy who expressed interest in a pair of Lores
and if he gets them, I will check them out.

BTW...It would be nice to see Tekton come out with a version
similiar to the Omen Defs. The change from my reg Omens to the Defs was ....WOW!!!!
Well, I for one think Zu is just fantastic, being on
my personal 3rd pair I cannot say I have ever been
happier with a single company's speaker. Right now
I am listening to Cassandra Wilson from another room
at pretty loud volume, and it sounds like she is really
in there, just awesome. And that's on 15 minute new
speaker cables! I found the right match there synergy
wise for sure.

Having said that, I have a semi local guy above in this thread who wants to bring over a Pair of the Tekton Lores
so we can hear both. And, I am contemplating a purchase
of one of Tektons speakers for the heck of it, although
at this point...I really don't see the point as my feeling
is they will be more alike than not. But who knows, we'll
see what the Lores do if we get together.

To be fair though, I have the Omen Defs, which were a huge
jump from my standard Omens, so I'm sure certain areas
of comparison would not be fair. Lores should go
head to head probably with the standard Omens.

Long live Zu and Tekton!!
No, I think he got a good deal on another pair of
speakers, and while he liked the Pens, he liked
the other speakers better, and had an offer on his, so
he let them go.
