Who really makes the India tube from ARC

I just got an ARC preamp heavily modded but with the original India tubes. Who really made these tubes in the late 70s and early 80s. Now I assume they use the same Reflektor variations that seem ubiquitous, usually branded as Sovteks which are not the best in my view. These India branded tubes are much better sounding.

Well it took an e-mail to my British tube Guru (no I am not going to share him) to tell me. They were made in India were in fact made in India and they went by the name of BEL branded electronics. The actual manufacter was Bharat Electronics Co. which was a Phillips subsidiary apparently with several plants.

very interesting, Mechans!!
Never knew that BEL made tubes that would be audiophile grade at any time!
My Pre still has the originals and it is the vaunted ARC SP6b circa 1978. The pre has been heavily modded but the tubes never rolled. I am thinking about it as I am an inveterate tube roller and I just bought the preamp from a friend who never tried any other tube. The problem is that it sounds better than audiophile now so why fix something that aint broke.
