Which DAC? PS Audio Direct Stream OR Berkeley REFERENCE Alpha DAC 1 /2

Its been a while now and considering an upgrade and looking specifically for the benefits and differences between these 2 DACs. (Berkeley Reference 1 will be ok with me in this topic of discussion)
Transport is a PS Audio Memory Player and Aurender Player. My files will mostly be from my existing CD collection OR (ripped files).

System comprises of Spectral amplification and a pair of Apogee Acoustics.
I am a big analog buff and appreciating my digital more and more.
Simply looking for some feedback by owners who are familiar with these units.

Dont wish to add more DACs into this discussion since I like the sound of these units and not planning to replace my music collection into High Res files (16 Bits will do just fine for me but will eventually buy some HR files to add into the collection).  I currently own the PS Audio Perfectwave DAC mk2 (had it for 6 years now). Appreciate any opinions.
Thank you

The only thing that matters is how those 2 DACs sound to your ears, and in your system. They are both highly rated DACs. My suggestion is to audition both. I know PS Audio does home trial, and I’m sure you can find a Berkeley dealer with a trial policy.
You may want to check your ears.
To mention the PS Audio as competition for the Berkeley Reference seems unusual?
Perhaps I'm missing something? No offense meant; just curious.
