VPI HW-19 Original Motor Turnoff Pop

Anyone had any success in eliminating the pop that occurs when turning off the motor and the preamp is not muted?

I sometimes forget to mute my preamp before switching the motor off. I understand there is a cap inside the motor that is designed to control this but, in my case, it is ineffective.

Any advice is much appreciated.

I REPLACED PUSH BUTTON WITH TOGGLE ,YOU CAN GET ONE AT ANY HARDWARE STORE OR HOME DEPOT,MAKE SURE THE STEM IS LONG ENOUGH TO FIT IN EXISTING HOLE.YOU MIGHT HAVE TO REDRILL FOR NICE FIT,OR ELSE YOU CAN MOUNT IT OUSIDE OF BASE.
The toggle switch cured the turnoff transient? That's all you did? Sounds like an easy fix.
HI,
I FOUND THAT THE STOCK PUSHBUTTON WAS VERY NOISY.WHEN I REPLACED WITH A NICE TOGGLE IT MADE A BIG CHANGE.IT EVEN LOOKS NICE IN CHROME.REMEMBER TO GET ONE WITH A LONG STEM SO IT FITS THROUGH THE BASE.
GOOD LUCK

HI,
BEFORE YOU CHANGE SWITCH PLUG VPI INTO A POWER STRIP WITH AN ON OFF SWITCH AND TURN ON TABLE WITH THAT THEN YOU WILL KNOW FOR SURE THAT IS THE PROBLEM.
