Vibrapod Cone - Do these make a difference?

Hi, My Audio Research transport sits on the carpet midway between my Revel M106 speakers on stands. Do these make a difference? and do I also need the Vibrapod stabilizer as well?

Thanx , Fred

It's never a good idea to install audio components directly on top of carpeting - it can only compromise ventilation. Anything you can do to get them off the floor is a good idea.
+1 @cleeds

If a stand is not an option, at least get a solid maple block. And then add Vibrapod cones. You should hear improved soundstage with both of these tweaks.

Good luck!

I agree w/cleeds and lalitk -
For my gear on carpet...
A large ceramic or porcelain tile from Home Depot or Lowes on the carpet and a wood plinth on the tile.

These wood platforms from Dawn’s Depot (see link) are a good value:

Get platform and tile that are sized to fit one another.

I do use Vibrapod Cones. Try 3 of them, point down, between the transport and the wood platform. I’ll be surprised if you don’t get quite a few other suggestions. The Vibrapod Cones are inexpensive and do seem to work.

I don't think you will get adequate clearance for ventilation with cones directly on the carpet under the transport.
