Thiel 3.7 vs 3.6?

Has anyone done a direct comparison?

I know and love the 3.6; I don't own them. Since they are so inexpensive used now, it would take a big difference to justify the price of the 3.7s.

I've read the reviews that rave about how great the 3.7 is, but the 3.6 was also great... And it's easy to fool yourself into thinking new *must* be loads better.

If anyone has done an actual head-to-head, I'd love to hear about it.

Short of that, if anyone has listened to both carefully and can comment on the differences, that would also be very helpful. Thanks!

I haven't heard the 3.6s but I had both the 3.7s and the 2.4SE and the 3.7s are a big jump forwards. It's actually less harsh that the 2.4SEs and incredible control of the low end. It's also less boomy even in a small room.

But put it in a big room with a couple of SS2s and the PX/S1 to integrate them, and you have a superb full range speaker system.
