The desperate need to tinker

I was just watching a video on Youtube of a modder taking a brand new MacBook Air M3 and making it outperform a MacBook pro with some thermal pads and heat sink.

I don't even really like Macs, but the thought of buying a Macbook Air just to modify it has me thinking of buying one.  😂

It made me wonder about audiophiles who buy top end gear and immediately want to swap caps in it. Is that who you are??

BTW, I love the battery life and screen on a Mac, loathe the UI.  I'd be much happier if I could swap it out a-la Linux.

I doubt audiophiles buying high end product cannot wait to modify them ...😁

But a Mac is only a computer ... 😁

I modified all my pieces of gear almost all but my gear is low cost even if some pieces are almost high end even by today standards ...

If i was purchasing high end costlier product i will never modify them ... I am not an engineer or like you speakers designer...

i modified my speakers heavily but they cost me 100 bucks and it was astounding transformation ...i will never do it on a new costly products..

I always enjoy your thread ... 😊

my best to you ...
