On September 11, UMC / Universal will release RICHARD & LINDA THOMPSON HARD LUCK STORIES (1972 to 1982), an expansive 8 CD set featuring all 6 studio albums remastered from the original tapes, with 31 previously unreleased recordings including outtakes, demos and rarities along with live concerts from 1975 and 1977. This first-ever comprehensive career retrospective was personally curated by Richard and Linda and compiled and mastered by Andrew Batt.

I already have all their LP's and CD's, so I'll have to take a close look to see if I "need" this boxset. Richard and Linda were a major source of great music in the 1970's and early 80's, and Richard remains so. They were in their time what Buddy and Julie Miller have been in the past few decades---amongst the very best of the best.
