Recommendations for better computer speakers

Greetings!

I have a Klipsch Promedia 2.1 desktop speaker system for my PC. I’ve had it for years and it sounds good.

I’m wondering what would sound better / great?

I listen to music (wide variety), youtube videos, TED talks, etc. I don’t really watch Netflix movies on my computer.  I do a lot of Zoom meetings.

I’m thinking bookshelf speakers, DAC, and small amp?

The budget is <$2k. Recommendations?
