Recommend an RCA connector

For years I've on occasion made clones of the Rega Couple interconnect- Klotz GY-107 cable (aka Lagrange) and Neutrik Profi plugs. I think with the Profi one is paying a lot for the ground first contact scheme. Switching cables with the system powered down makes that unnecessary.

I'm going to make up another batch- but I would like to use a less costly connector than the Profi (it would be about $34 per set of cables). I'm planning 3 pair of cables and I don't want to spend $100 on the RCA's.

Any suggestions? I need 12 male RCA plugs and would like to top out at $50 or so- I do want connectors that will not compromise sound-

Thanks

Having gone through several rca plugs in the past little while I found the conmector to contribute significantly to improved system performance

To date...
Purchased two pairs of Stager Silver Solids interconnects with Canare f-10 rca's
- upgraded the rca's to Eichman Silver bullets which made the cables much more revealing spacious and dynamic

- changed the Silver Bullets to KLE Innovations Copper Harmony RCA's and found a significant improvement in dynamics, and image

- changed the Copper Harmony to Silver Harmony (from KLEI also) and again there was a noticeable improvement in dynamics, details and image

However - the other cables in your system must be of a similar quality to reap the rewards - one set of plugs ain't gonna transform your system

Take a look at the KLE Innovations web site for reviews
