Preamp Deal of the Century

If anyone is looking for a true "World Class" preamp at a very fair price..heed my advice. I just recieved a Supratek Syrah preamp that was hand built by Mick Maloney in Western Australia, and it is absolutely beautiful! This preamp is the best deal you will ever find. I would put it up against any preamp out there for both looks and sound. Price? $2500 for the Syrah (includes Killer Phono stage). Not into phono? Try the Chardonney line stage for $2100. Don't get me wrong, I am not associated with this company. I am just a very happy owner! This preamp is VERY dynamic, yet liquid. At first, i do not have a lot knowledge about the tubes.The previous owner has chagned some of the tubes on the Syrah.I need your help on buying the stock tubes on my Syrah that i play only linestage. can you point out exactly what tubes (model) are the stock tube for playing linestatge only and also where is the best place to buy them.

Thanks for all your advice, and especially Ecclectique(i will get back with you on your offer). The reason is that someone in this thread prefers to use the stock tubes instead.

Here are the tubes on my Syrah:
6SN7 Gtb ge
6GK5 gt pro/comm
6bg6 philips

What is your opinions on these tubes?

Ecclectique, thanks for your inputs. the 6bg6 tubes have a hat with wire on the top of it. Should i change it?

I experience lately with my system and i do not know that it is normal or not. When my JC1 is in stand by mode, i turn syrah on and the speaker produces no noise, boom.... But when the Amp is in the play mode and i turn on my syrah i hear the sound of boom from the speaker especially the woofer. IS there any wrong in my system?

Any body has a hum/buz (come from high, mid, and low)on Syrah when playing linestage?

Thanks Pablov, What is db of your speaker?

I have Syhra pre. Anyone can advise me how to control the switch at the front and the other two switch in the middle and the knob on the back. Note that i play linestage only.

thanks Simon74, i just reset the 2 middle backward and gain significantly in volume but i need more time to compare the linestage in low and high gain. what is your favorite (low or high gain) anyone?

Has anyone tried to connect a sub to an output of syhra? if so what type of connector (single or y adaptor) do you use?

I have the same hum issue with my supratek preamp. when i connect the amp to speaker only (no pre amp involveed) i have no hum. connecting pre to amp and to speakers, hum is audible. I then changed a pair of CHEAP monster ic from pre to amp. th e hum decreased significanly. i disclosed the monster ic i learned that the ic conductors are bigger than the other one. Also the monster is not shielded. It is simply twisted. I then ordered a good shielded ic but this pair does not help at all with the hum. Any recommendation? Thanks alot.
