philips dvd 963SA upgrade

I have read a number of discussions regarding the upgrade to the 963Sa with the Black Gate VK 150/350 Cap. Not being an electronics expert, can you advise exactly where to install this item. also any particular preference to interconnects ? thanks. Tony
