I've been looking into possibly getting a music server recently. But I saw the Marantz CD with the USB port and am now considering this. I know the differences as far as features of the two, but does anyone have an opinion on sound as far as cd playback goes?
Careful with the Marantz. AFAIK, it does not do "gapless" playback. That's a deal breaker for me. I have a Vortexbox Appliance, and love it, along with a Squeezebox Touch. Simple, cheap, and great sound.
