Not sure where to post my question so I put it here RE: RCA Input switcher...

Trying to find a switch for 2 RCA inputs to output into 1 pair of speakers.

I'm having a hard time finding a switch box to accept 2 inputs from separate amps which allow them to be played through 1 pair of speakers. I have a really nice 2CH fully analog tube setup for music, and use the same main speakers as front mains in a 5.1 A/V setup for home theatre. Because of logistics/space/spouse approval etc. it is a PITA to switch speaker cables depending on the preference of inputs. Any help on a source for a simple 2 RCA line level input x 1 speaker level output switcher?

Thanks for the replies all.

I ordered the Beresford TC7220 today. It is exactly what I was looking for, but nothing comparable to it ever came up in a search I did. Thanks again for advice.

imhififan...

Correct me if I am thinking wrong here, but as long as my tube amps are off they don't need a load on their outputs, correct?

So as long as I switch the speakers over to the tube amp side before I power up the amps all should be good?

Tube phonostage into tube pre into tube monoblocks into L/R speakers.

Using same speakers as Frt. L/R in a 5.1 A/V setup.

Wanting to be able to route through a switch so I don't have to reach behind the rack & TV (close quarters) to switch speaker wires between sources when I change from listening to 2ch analog to 5.1ch home theatre. (Plus I know it's bad for the connectors to keep plugging/unplugging all the time).

So I'm using same speakers, but switching between sources, and I don't want to run the A/V receiver through the tube amp. It doesn't have pre-outs anyway. I need a speaker switch box to accept 2 speaker inputs with one output. Most everything I run across is designed to have 1 input and multiple outputs to run different speaker zones from a single source.

I need to run the same pair of speakers from 2 different sources.

Sorry for the lack of clarity in the OP, it was a few cocktails into the evening when I posted it.

Excellent recommendation by imhififan, I have experience using many of the Niles products and they always function well. Guess I'm somewhat curious as to why you talk about switching speaker cables and ask about a line level (RCA) switcher? Do you have an A/V receiver with preouts? Assuming the 2 channel is preamp and amp, does the preamp have a HT bypass input or just an unused input? Trying to think about an alternate solution. Listing your components would be most helpful.
