Matching JBL and McIntosh

I am currently breaking in a pair of JBL L100 Classic speakers which I purchased from Audio Classics on Dec 15th.  These are in my secondary system and a McIntosh MA6600 200wpc Integrated is driving them.  I am thinking of trading in my integrated and going with a McIntosh MC275 tube amp and a McIntosh C47 preamp..  Has anyone tried the JBL's with a 75wpc tube amp and if so, how did you like the sound?

I would guess this would be a fantastic combo. I'm sure back in the day there were plenty of JBL's powered by MC275's Heck the ultimate would be a pair of 275's
Should work great.  I'm using an LTA MZ2 with the L100 Classics and it is seriously fun even with the low power output.
@danonano,

Do the tubes help nullify the forward midrange?  I am hoping to nullify that forwardness  by using a tube amp and SS preamp.  Does it help or not?  If it doesn’t, there would be no reason to change.

Just coming back to this thread - Stereo5, did you ever try a tube amp with the L100s?  I've been considering trying a different amp.
