in search of audio nirvana .....

When you add something new to the rack, what is your go to song or album you play, to determine if you reached higher ground?

It has to be something I've listened to a lot over the long term. No single album or song or passage of music does it for me unless the improvement or deficiency is extremely obvious. It may take me weeks of long term listening sessions with wide variations in music genre and recording qualities to make final judgement.

I like to use Pink Floyd’s DSOTM on CD! The Wall would be a good second choice (the late Bob Ezrin did the production work). I have The Wall on British EMI LPs - and USA CDs.

Pink Floyd- One of These Days  and  Fearless both of which are on Meddle.

Rush- Moving Pictures- The whole thing.

The Flaming Lips- At War With the Mystics

Floyd's dark side is on my list along with King Crimson's Islands. Haven't heard "at war with the mystics" I will fire up! Thanks.
