@mahgister I was not being sarcastic whatsoever. Acoustic amplification and tuning audio quality by reflecting soundwaves is what you are doing. As I pointed out in my comment, it reminds me of the ear devices. In fact, I experimented with homemade ones myself. The image was the only one I could find to illustrate the devices.

I reacted to Hilde45 post, because he does this correction about my english minimalistic use repeatedly for more than two years now... He even apologize to me by mail for this in 20021...but to no avail... He goes on and on... Anybody can correct me and i will thank him... But harassment is not helping hand in my book...

But he came back many times instead of discussing my post , criticizing anew the number of words and the bad english etc... In a word he never end patronizing...

He did it few weeks ago again in my "immersiveness" thread.. He stay polite for sure,... But a polite reoccurring correction persisting from april 2021 till today is not politeness anymore... It is pushing on a button ...

He never discussed in good faith the content of my thread... Put yourself in my shoes and think about a patronizing correction which reoccured for more than two years ...

Then after this ChatGPT "helping hand " correction , as he did over and over, i asked him why he did so ... He call me "pathetic"... 😊

Then when i did read your post with a cartoon i reacted perhaps misinterpreting your intention , but after the many corrections by Hilde45 i was less patient with cartoon ...

I apologize to you, if i read you now i see that i misinterpreted your post and you could not have know the harassment of Hilde45 for the last 2 years...

Because repeating many , many times always the same criticism even if he is right (my english is not very good for sure) especially in the last two of my threads, he dis do as opening posts, in a month interval, this is harassment...he never adressed the content of my thread but take fun to patronizing... I dont mock people here , i discussed and i gave ARGUMENTS ... And i dont entertain grudges i spoke my mind ON THE SPOT .

I apologize to you because you post your image at the wrong time without knowing the context of my "twisted" relation with hilde45 ...He is supposed to correct everybody syntax being a corrector ... i just listened in awe to the cheap speakers M-Audio MV40 typing this...

An album with Charlie Mariano and Sadao Watanabe in duet ...

I never liked these speakers for the last 12 years i owned them ...

i only love them now because , having no more my Mission Cyrus , i created an acoustic corner around them because i had no other speakers and no other choice ..😊

I had my biases , and i never listen to good cheap speakers...

Before this acoustic settlement around them and a few tweaks i thought that Steve Guttenberg exagerated giving them 8 on 10 in his review long time ago...But Guttenbergt was right ...

I was wrong simply because i listened to them with the wrong component in the wrong room... A four inches bass driver cannot be put anywhere without any acoustic devices...

This made me doubt my sanity in ordering the microzotl headphone amplifier or pre-amp for my Sansui power amp headphone out...

I will not say this to my wife who asked me why i ordered the costlier piece of gear i ever bought ...😁

I doubt myself sanity... i hope the microzotl2 will be damn good ...Tomorrow after Fedex delivery  😁

First and foremost, I am not taking sides in the above banter, and as someone who has extremely limited abilities in the area of any language other than a North-Eastern United States variant of what once was English, I can only commend those individuals that are even passingly proficient in more than one dialect, let alone language. 

However, this seems like an interesting thread where miscommunication is rampant so I thought I would chime in with a question that has intrigued me for some time. In fact, at the risk of hijacking the thread, I have noticed this issue has popped up several times in this very thread:  

Although some words in some languages are readily used in multiple ways, I am wondering if the members of this forum have made a conscious and collective decision to use the term "acoustic" as a noun, rather than as an adjective, and if so, what does it mean?   I notice that occasionally this term is used both ways in the same post or paragraph, and this possible misuse is definitely far more widespread than just in this thread or by the current members of this particular discussion.

Over the decades that I have been involved in the pursuit of an enjoyable aural experience, although there certainly may be other places unknown to me where this usage appears, this is the only forum where I have encountered the term "acoustic" being used as a thing, and not as a way of focusing attention on the type of something.  e.g. - acoustic performance; acoustic level; acoustic quality; acoustic range, etc.  When used as a noun, I am used to seeing the term "acoustics", as in "the room's acoustics" or, to use both variants in one phrase: "The acoustic properties of this material dramatically enhance the acoustics of the space."  

Perhaps the distinction I am making may be lost on those who prefer to abbreviate most terms to something quicker to type, such as "ship" (noun? or verb?) used to infer a desire for a particular relationship to evolve into something more. This desire to reduce the number of characters typed also potentially reduces specificity, which would seem to run counter to the trend on this forum to wax eloquent on minutiae in the endless search for a perfect aural presentation in the space available to the writer. 

Note that although I no longer possess the ears or the financial wherewithal to as fully enjoy the results of this quest as in past years, I do enjoy and occasionally benefit from the viewpoints and hardware references presented here. I have actually made purchase decisions based on what I have learned while browsing Audiogon threads, and I thank you all for sharing your knowledge, experiences and preferences. 

I would be very interested in an explanation, from both the OP and other forum members of their interpretation of the meaning of the word "Acoustic" in the heading of the OP's opening post as I think it is directly related to his overall point that (and I paraphrase and condense to) "this stuff HERE sounds very different to the same stuff if I put it over THERE, which is very much due to the differing acoustic properties of the two spaces."

Acoustics in the plural means physical and psycho-acoustical science...

The adjective is not the noun...

My mistake as a very bad english speaker... in french "acoustique" in the singular mode means the science... In english we must use the plural...
