You also need to look at your other components. For example, your amp and preamp will just as much input to your systems imaging as the speakers. If 1 piece is lacking in that department, it will effect the whole system.
Forward soundstage speakers?
Any suggestions on a small floorstanding speaker that project the soundstage into the room vs. behind the speakers? I want something that puts images closer to the ears and would be good for low volume listening. I've tried many speakers and for some odd reason, no matter how much I spend, I can't reproduce the qualities of an old pair of polk ls50's.
