Esoteric sa-10

Has anyone heard this player? How does it do for redbook?

it does not look as fancy as the sa-60 but for 2 channel playback the indsie is the same.

Not exactly!

1. SA-10 does not convert PCM (CD) to DSD like SA-60 does. I am not a big fan of this process/feature, but it might be helpful in some bright sounding systems and with irritating CD recordings.

2. Power supply is different, and SA-60 has the edge.

3. The analog output stage is different in favor of the SA-60 again.

I am talking Stereo only.

someone in another forum reported that it performed quite well on both formats. but in truth if you are going to purchase an esoteric, you really should get a model that has the VRDS-NEO transport, which the SA10 does not.
i am listening to mine right now. just got though the break in process. i am really enjoying it. before this i owned a sonic frontiers processor 3 and a lambda transport. this player wins out hands down. great detail from top to bottom great sound stage cant beat it for the price. i mainly listen to redbook cds. it does not look as fancy as the sa-60 but for 2 channel playback the indsie is the same. it also has very good isolation feet.
