My Scheu is not a Premier, but I had the same issue develop on mine. Assuming the design and engineering are similar, I would reccomend you take the platter off the spindle and check the collar for any cracks or fractures. It rests at the base of the spindle bearing responsible for keeping the platter at the appropriate height and not touching the plinth.
