Bruckner’s 9th and movie scores - connection?

I have only now discovered Bruckner, mainly the 4th 7th and 9th symphonies. Listening to the 9th right now and I hear multiple movie themes in there. Since he died before movies had sound, I’m assuming many movie composers used various pieces of his work and perhaps modified it to fit the action in the movie.
So my question to someone with more classical expertise is, am I hearing something that is not there or is the concept of his work being used and new works being based on for movies, correct?

Do I hear Star Wars in the opening movement of Bruckner's 4th? In any case, when the works become public domain, it's pretty much fair game.

Yes, you are right about public domain, but I’ve never heard a Beethoven, Mozart or even a Bach variation in a movie theme. With Bruckner, in just the 7th alone I hear multiple movie theme’s. I will listen to the 4th and let you know what I hear. In the meantime, May the 4th be with….sorry.
