what a wonderful post to me you did Rafael0054, thankyou, you are a first class gentleman.
Hi Lak, please give your impressions when you have the time, we are all in this together my friend, thankyou for your post.
I'm getting both the furutech GTX-D Rhodium and the Gold, I will report my findings after 500 hours of burn-in on the two different versions, cheers.
Thankyou Rafael0054, sounds like it's better than the Rhodium on your system, yes, I look forward to more of what you have to say, cheers.
Hi Michelzay, are you useing the Rhodium on your amp?, or the Gold?, is your amp solid state or tube?
Hi michel, that was a very good post you did and helpful, currently, I have many E-mailing me and posting to me there opinions for very high-current solid state use for GTX-D out lets, for some odd reason, the Rhodium is killing the Gold with responses with this topic, I am doing my best to get a direct answer with my very important question about the mid-range and vocals, sound stage placement in general, LOL!, no one has accomidated this answer period, cheers.
Hi Rafael0054, What do you think I should do first?, The Furutech GTX-D Rhodium I am buying from a good friend brand new in sealed box never used or burn-in on a cable burner, The Gold version I am buying from Chris there at vh-audio cooked on his burner for 6 days, which version do I need to install for my modded krell 700cx solid state amp first?, The Rhodium will take atleast 500 and more to burn-in, where as the Gold will only have to take 100 to 200 hours and it is done, I am thinking do the Rhodium first, Chris there at vh-audio gave me a gurantee, that If I wanted to exchange the Gold for Rhodium he would free of charge, However, one of these two outlets will be going on my tube digital, the most important is the amp first, because I will be installing my single pole 30 amp breaker for the amp, so I have to have the best built Recepticle in the world to take spikes over 23 to 25 amps, my amp puts out 6,000 watts total max power!, weighs in at a whopping 180 pounds out of the box!, she is a beast!, tired of flipping the current 20 amp breaker, LOL!, I like to push the volume some times to concert level, He, He, Ha.
Thanks Rafael0054 for the feed back, I enjoy your journey for what is possible with Furutech, cheers.
Rafael0054, do the furutech products go up in performance and then down, bright to none bright and back again dureing break in?, 24 hrs on this Rhodium GTX-D, the first 19 hrs it blew the Gold out of the water in all aspects of performance, currently it turned a little bright again, may reinstall the Gold, I have a/b the both 4 to 5 times dureing this process thus far useing my tube/solid state hybred headphone amp that is in my cd-player with a real analog volume control on some nice cans to be sure I understand the entire process of burn-in and then the final out come, which some say may take 500 Hours?
Hi Rafael0054, well yesterday, the Gold sounded better on the Tube/solid state Hybred digital player, to tell you the truth here, these crazy outlet's are going back and fourth with the break-in, I do not believe I will be able to get a complete impression of anything untill they are done?, ah, yes, my baby, The Krell 700cx comes home, I am excited to get it back, I futhered the modds with better power supplies, if anything could kick the crap out of break-in of the outlet's, LOL!, It will be the Krell 700cx, 6000 watts total power out-put, around a few hundred watts in stand-by, Rafael, I will be giving you all my feed back on all this, you have helped me alot, stay tuned, thankyou.
Thankyou Lak, I am changing the Rhodium back in the wall, it does seem alot better than the Gold, I believe that outlet's may differ than plugs and IEC's, why?, I do not know?, it seems that most everyone likes the Rhodium when it comes to outlets, and Gold when it comes to plugs and IEC's, Lak, I put the Gold in yesterday because there was a screaming brightness the rhodium was going through that the wife could not stand just walking around in the house, she could hear it all the way from my head phones, I am glad all of you have said that these furutech's go up and down through break-in process, I was very alarmed there for a moment if the Rhodium was to stay bright, the day before on the Rhodium, it was incredible before it turned bright on me, over all, I am amazed of the performance of both the Rhodium and Gold Furutech GTX-D, only 24 hrs into this, I have along ways to go to get 400 to 500 on both outlets .
Hi Lak, not sure for the digital it is 12 or 10 and the gauge for my amp is 10.
Hi HDm, I am doing the next best thing, The christmas tree!, 183.6 watts total for 450 minuture lights running 24-7, then take a peek listen with my tube/solid state hybred head phone amp that is built into my digital player to hear how things are coming along, decided, no need to wear my transport and tubes out.
Hi HDm, I agree, it does seem not to do much when I peek listen to the outlet's to hear how they are coming along after useing the christmas tree lights, however, to me the Rhodium version is far and away better sounding than the Gold, my modded krell 700cx will be here friday or monday, this should do better than the frige, likly I will just have to suffer the sound of the burn-in process, if the Rhodium sounds good on the amp like it does on the tube/solid state hybred digital player, then it's a done deal, I will use all Rhodium Furutech GTX-D outlet's, thankyou for your help, cheers.
I appreciate your feed back Rafael0054, thankyou and keep them coming, I enjoy what you have said, and your journey with what the Furutech product's are doing for you, cheers.
Rafael0054, LOL!, Now that the amp is back, The Rhodium sounds incredible over the main system on my digital player, both are really good, you cannot go wrong with either, however, The Rhodium is warmer and not as hard sounding as the Gold with smoothnesss, way deeper sound stage, 3 dimensionality!, I am perplexed as to why the gold is a smichen faster sounding than the Rhodium, oh, both are vocal kings, very nice, at 179 hrs, we cannot understand what possibly could get better with the sound with more break-in?, mmm, really!, this can get better?
Rafael0054, Hi, The Rodium Furutech GTX-D won the position on the tube/solid state hybred digital player, the outlet bring's out all the performance of the Tara labs cobalt power cord with oyaide termination's, yesterday, I tried the Rhodium on the Krell 700cx, do you think I should try the Gold there?, seem's like it would be a wast of time and hard work, The Rodium did NOT sound bright on the amp at all, Rafael, this is not an issue of tubes versus solid state between these two outlet's, but rather sound stage placement, dimensionality,, clarity, and how much can your system handle without sounding harsh with detail of the Rodium outlet, if you answer here, I will elaborate more with you, I do enjoy talking with you.
Hi Rafael0054, The Furutech GTX-D Gold I bought was cooked for 6 days, and the Rodium version of the same was new out of the box, I put 300 hrs on both at this point, here is what Michaelzay had to say on his thread, Furutech Gold and copper, quote-12-12-14: Michelzay

Last week, I made another experience regarding Rhodium vs. Gold Ac connectors. I put back again my AQ Volcano (Copper) speaker cables (instead of AQ Meteor Silver) and some copper interconnects (instead of AQ SKY silver) that I have. With Fi-11 gold AC connectors, the sound was kind of dark side of warm sound and lacks a little bit the high frequencies. Even though music was alive and resolution details were present and the bass was too much pronounced. Honestly I am not a Bass freak… I put back again my Dynamic Design power cords having FI-11 Rhodium and high frequencies opened up magically with Copper interconnect/speaker cables having wider soundstage. The sound was more neutral and one could hear tiny noises out of the records.

It was a pleasant surprise which confirms the AC connector needs to be matched also with interconnect cables materials and speakers cables. Gold connectors with Silver interconnect/speaker cables and Rhodium connectors with copper interconnect/speaker cables. I continue to be amazed how Power cords and related AC connectors would impressively change my system sound. Of course, AC receptacle play a big role especially matching it with power cords. I use Tesla AC receptacle.

I ordered some Silver and Gold “iego” set AC connectors that I look forward to receive them to make new experiences with Silver connectors and compared them with Furutech. I was told Silver connectors presents the best of Gold and Rhodium, let’s see ...

Rafael0054,
Here is my response, quote,,12-13-14: Audiolabyrinth
Hi Michaelzay, I enjoyed your review and find that I have the same impressions between Gold and Rodium Furutech GTX-D wpo's, my cables are copper!, The Tara labs Zero Gold I/C, Tara labs Omega Gold speaker cables, Tara labs Cobalt power cord that is terminated with oyaide ends, the Rodium is incredible with these cables, I went through a shock factor of the synergy with all of this, The Gold did not have the magical sound stage presatation or the resolution that the Rodium brought out of my cables, you seem to be the first audiophile that knows what he is talking about, has nothing to do with tube or solid state equipment, like you said, rather it has everything to do with cables synergy!, well said Michaelzay, one thing that is most important that I have not said to no one yet, is the fact the Rodium is incredible on the $5,450.00 Tara labs Cobalt power cord that is this,, Another industry first is TARA Labs' propriety annealing process, known as SA-OF8N 99.999999% copper (super-annealed, oxygen-free, eight nines pure copper). This creates a unique, long, unbroken crystal structure called “mono-crystal” which has exquisitely smooth and detailed transfer of frequencies over a very wide bandwidth. pure copper, which is the purest in the cable industry, even more pure than occ copper that is 6-nines,also versus cheaper power cords that I do not use that I had on hand for many comparisons that was not so much of a huge improvement like putting the Rodium on a very good pure copper power cord, cheers.

Hi rafael0054, yes, the Rodium furutech GTX-D sounds very, very, bright and in your face, like screaming!, with the first 3 to 5 hrs of listening, both Gold and Rhodium go through alot of changes the first 200 hrs, I do not recommend even listening to either of them untill 180 hrs, also, I will add, the seller of the furutech GTX-D Rhodium said that at 250 hrs, I have most of what these do, and that the last 10% to 20% will come at 500 to 700 hrs.., so I thought that my impression's was valid at this point, Raf, I bet I changed out the recepticles atleast 14 times, alot of hard work!, a pain in the ass really,so at this point, I came to a conclusion with the tube/solid state hybred digital player, then, all I needed to do is hear if the Rhodium did the same on the Krell 700cx, to my surprise, The Rhodium had the same sound on the Krell, just not to the magnutude of being on the Tara labs cobalt power cord, but still a incredible huge improvement, one big differnce the Rhodium did to the amp was made the sound stage much bigger with bomb like slam and timberal accuracy and transit speed that was off the chart's, I never heard this on the krell before, it's like I got a much more exspensive amp, so I ask you, do you think it is necessary for me to try the Gold on the amp?, after all the test I have done, and the multiple times of change out of the wpo's, I do not believe I need to hear the Gold on the amp, I might do it one time for you if you think you want to know, alway's a joy to talk to you Rafael0054, cheers.
what I would really like to know is, Has anyone mixed Rhodium and Gold Furutech GTX-D wpo's?
Rafael0054, I am going to listen to the Furutech GTX-D Gold on the Krell 700cx to be sure witch outlet is the clear winner for this amp anyway, that way, surely I have covered all angles of test, with nothing left out of the audiophile world to listen to between them, I will let you know soon, thankyou Rafael0054.
Rafael0054, wow!, glad I listened to you!, The oddest thing happened between the Furutech GTX-D Gold and Rhodium on my Krell 700cx amp, The Rhodium sounded better in every way but one, and I mean one, important part of the sound, The Gold had better, bigger, fuller, lower bass than the Rhodium on the amp, I do not understand this, the bass was way better on the digital player with the Rhodium, it's like I had a bass suck out, half notes of the bass, I am going to run more test!, I am going to put the both of these Furutech GTX-D Rhodium and Gold on the entire system for the first time today, the Rhodium that clearly is better in every way on the tube/solid state hybred digital, and the Gold on the Krell amplifier, see what happens, again, I ask everyone, has anyone mixed the two version's before with success?
Awsome review!, thankyou Rafael0054, your an asset to the community, very detailed and informative, cheers.
Rafael0054, I like you, so e-mail me, I will tell you a good tweak for any furutech outlet's, most do not know, I do many test when I buy product's, I know how to improve the furutech GTX-D wpo's.
