Aerial 10T Beware

HELLO FELLOW MEMBERS
BUYER BEWARE WHEN PURCHASING AN USED PAIR OF AERIAL 10T's..
I WOULD LIKE TO BRING ATTENTION TO THOSE SEEKING TO PURCHASE A USED PAIR OF AERIAL 10TS... I HAVE OWNED BOTH THE OLDER AND NEW VERSION OF THE AERIAL 10T AND CAN VERY EASILY SEE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE OLDER AND NEWER VERSION... I WOULD JUST LIKE TO SAY THAT I HAVE SEEN TOO MANY OLDER VERSION 10T ADS STATING AND ADVERTISING THE SPEAKER AS BEING THE LASTEST VERSION WHEN IN FACT THEY WERE THE MUCH LESS EXPENSIVE OLDER VERSION... THE NEW VERSION DOES NOT HAVE CRACKS IN THE HEADS.. IF THE HEADS DEVELOPED A HAIR LINE CRACK THAT IS A CLUE TO THE SPEAKER BEING AN OLDER VERSION... THE LATER VERSION THE MIX COMPOSITION USED FOR MOLDING THE HEAD WAS CHANGED SO THE HEAD WOULD NOT DEVELOPE THE HAIR LINE CRACK ANYMORE.. (THE HAIR LINE CRACK DOES NOT IMPEDE THE PERFORMANCE IN ANY WAY).. THE STANDS ARE DIFFERENT ON THE OLDER AND LATEST VERSION... THE TOP PLATE IS DIFFERENT.. THE BINDING POST ARE DIFFERENT.. THE WIRE HARNESS IS DIFFERENT.. THESE ARE JUST A FEW VERY SUBTLE DIFFERENCES THAT AN UN EXPECTING BUYER WOULD NOT KNOW THE DIFFERENCE OF... THE LIST PRICE WAS MUCH DIFFERENT... AS MUCH AS 2000+ IN DIFFERENCE... THE BEST WAY TO PROTECT YOUR INVESTMENT WHEN PURCHASING A USED PAIR OF 10TS AND BEING TOLD THEY ARE THE LASTEST VERSION IS TO JUST ASK THE SELLER FOR THE SERIAL NUMBER AND CALL UP THE MANUFACTURER AND GIVE THE SERIAL NUMBER AND ASK FOR THE SPEAKERS HISTORY... AERIAL IS A GREAT COMPANY WITH EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SUPPORT AND WOULD GLADY TELL YOU THE HISTORY OF THE SERIAL NUMBER... I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW MANY OLDER VERSION 10TS I SEE UP FOR SALE THAT ARE BEING ADVERTISED AND SOLD AS A 8300 LIST PRICE NEW VERSION MODEL 10T WHEN IN FACT THEY ARE A 5000 LIST PRICE OLD VERSION.. BUYER PLEASE ASK FOR THE SERIAL NUMBERS AND CALL THE MANUFACTURER TO BE SAFE. EVEN THE SHIPPING BOXES AND PACKING MATERIAL ARE A LITTLE DIFFERENT. BUYER BEWARE.

Thanks everyone... All good responces.. Thanks to a site like Audiogon and it's veteran members like Sean who has contributed so much of his time and experience for years helping to educate and teach while we are trying to keep this hobby honest... Thanks everyone..

Oh yea,,, sorry not too mention Subaruguru and Mitch,,, also long standing veteran members who have steadily been here passing the good news.. WOW it's been a long time now,, from the beginning.. When was the beginning of the forums anyway? Maybe 98,, its been a while now. Great work guys...

COPY OF AN EMAIL SENT TO A RESELLER OF AN OLDER VERSION AERIAL 10T (name withheld)

Hi,,

Why is your Aerial 10T ad misleading and incorrectly stating the orig retail price of your 10T speakers serial numbers. The speakers serial numbers listed in your ad are stated by you as having an orig retail price of 8200. The serial number of the speakers listed in your ad had a listed MSRP of ONLY 6000 and not 8200 as stated in your ad which is a WHOPPING over 2000 difference in MSRP and very misleading to the un suspected Audiogon buyer. There is a post "AERIAL 10T BEWARE" in the discussion area alerting all Aerial 10T buyers of exactly the same misleading claims made by so many Aerial 10T resellers. Maybe it's best to edit your ad and explain this error as an honest mistake by explaining you mistakingly used the MSRPing from the wrong version 10T. The newer version 10T was improved upon with driver and crossover and cabinet changes beyond the speaker's serial numbers that you give for the speakers in your ad. This is very misleading to the buyer and undercuts the used selling value for the improved newer version Aerial 10T. This misleading claim should be made aware to all 10T buyers and resellers to keep all in honest perspective and preserve the true value of the 10t being purchased or sold.. There is over a 2000 MSRP difference in price between the speakers in your ad and the 8200 dollar MSRP priced newer improved version Aerial 10T speaker...
Please resellers and buyers,,, lets keep all in an honest and accurate perspective when buying and selling on the site... Lets keep Audiogon the honest high quality site that it always has been..
