Difference between Brinkmann Bardo and Oasis?
Thanks, Phil. What was your impression of the bass reproduction of these tables? Bass seemed to be the weakness noted by Fremer in his review of the Bardo, if only relative to the larger Brinkmanns.Bill

Thanks, Sksos1. I know what you mean.

Syntax, it must be evening where you are. Either that or you're drinking in the morning again.

Bump. Can anyone describe the sonic differences between these turntables?

Sksos1, I don't wish to hijack the thread, but could you describe the sonic differences between the Bardo and Oasis?
Tube Monoblocks in the 5-7K Range
I have my eye on the Carver's, too. Never heard (or the Rogue) 'em but I'm tempted nonetheless. The smaller, stereo amp--Black Beauty 20, I think--is supposed to be astonishing at its price and remarkably powerful for its rating. The Cherry 180s s...

Extravaganza, I think it's a customized Morel. The bigger VSM uses the Esotar, if I'm not mistaken.Kzhtoo, congrats on your purchase!

Mcpherson, that was me with the sidelong Merlins. With tweeters inward, they're virtually indistinguishable from upright, at least in far-field listening like I do. I was apprehensive about it and said so to Bobby P. at Merlin before I ordered the...

In a second system, I have Merlin TSM-Mmi in a living room the size of yours, placed on their sides at ear-level in a huge, open-sided and open-backed, solid birch wall-unit, which is on a short wall. The room is untreated with lots of hard surfac...
upscale audio is this legal?
I've bought dozens of tubes from Upscale over the years, some very expensive, and every transaction has been excellent. I trust this dealer. I don't trust many.
Review of Tekton Pendragon-Se Loudspeaker
Interesting. Thanks.
Review of Tekton Pendragon-Se Loudspeaker
Any idea how the Pendragons would fare with a 3.5 watts? I've been intrigued by them for a while but I was thinking of using a 2A3 amp. Nominally, their 98 db efficiency should work. But they might present a "hard" 98 db, with wide impedance swing...
Graham Phantom or Morch DP6 ?
Roscoeiii, here are a few observations in my system. I find the Tri-planar to throw a larger, bolder presentation with excellent transparency, immediacy, and flow. It seems fuller on the bottom and mids, perhaps not quite as extended or refined on...
Graham Phantom or Morch DP6 ?
Hi Salectric,I just want to address your point #2. I've used Graham arms for five years and they've held up perfectly. After three years, my 2.2 looked and functioned like the day I bought it. Ditto on my Phantom II after two years--and I listen t...
Graham Phantom or Morch DP6 ?
I don't think of the Phantom as a pure unipivot either because it is stabilized with the “Magneglide” system. FWIW, I have a Phantom II and don't find it lacking in bass. I did think the 2.2, which is a pure unipivot, had bass issues. Its bass alw...
