Magnet Wire Question Hi,Good question. I can buy 120' of 14ga magnet wire for around $20. I thought it would be a relatively cheap way to try out the concept in more than one setup. Maybe I can use it in my bedroom long term if nothing else. Thanks,Gary
Magnet Wire Question Al,Thanks for the info. Way over my head, but I get the idea.I'll go with 16ga and make a jumper with a length of the same wire.Looking forward to giving it a whirl-Kind regards,Gary
Magnet Wire Question Rax, thanks, they are enamel coated, thankfully. I read about spacing runs in a thread- may have bi wiring based comment. Al, the speakers are Usher CP6311. (87 sens and a nominal 8 ohm load)If thicker gauge would be better, I'll buy it. What gaug...
Anthem Integrated 225 -opinions Hi, maybe too late but I own the Anthem 225i. I find it sounds great with plenty of power. I'm not an expert with tubes vs ss, but it gives me everything I want. I went from a tubed preamp and ss amp, and the Anthem is plenty transparent to my ear...

Reference 3A De Capo BE Review Rebbi, I think I may following your path looking for monitors/stand mounts.I'm considering several speakers you listed along the way.I live alone and own several pairs of floorstanders that I enjoy. I'm interested in a pair of standmounts for a di...
Zu OMEN - hmm For what is worth, I had my Druids on squares of tile that rested on my carpeted floor. It made the adjustments much easier and consistent. I also used stacks of typing paper under the speakers between the spikes to experiment with gaps rather tha...
Why Merlins sound better then Sonus Faber Thanks for the thoughtful reply. I am very satisfied with the Grand Pianospeakers. After reading your response, I think I'll stay put for now. I also own Usher cp6311 which I love but aren't quite as refined as the Sonus Faber to me, but very musi...
Why Merlins sound better then Sonus Faber I'm curious now!I own the SF Concerto Grand Piano and enjoy them a lot. In my own experimentation I have heard them sound awesome (like now) and so-so with some gear/cable.For you guys that have heard the Grand Piano, should I seek the Merlin?? Or...
Zu OMEN - hmm I owned the Druid 4 for a year, give or take. Never figured out how to get the most out of them. I read and reread reviews, posts, swapped gear and cables in and out. May have been my listening area/gear/ears but they always seemed thin sounding. ... |
