Insurance for system
Yes, photos make it easier… and receipts… well, how would you not have these.  Perhaps in a situation where they were destroyed. Fire, for example. So, PDF and .jpg copies come in handy. On a thumb drive stored off site, or in a fireproof case...
Insurance for system
Receipts, and take photos of all including items with no receipts, find current replacement costs, give copy to agent, revise quote with specific coverage for specific items, like diamond rings, etc. You can cover for original cost, or pay more ...

One person’s best DAC can be another person’s blecch DAC. Yet, both DACs can be exceptional. Which is why the key is hearing a few “best” DACs in one’s system to find the one that satisfies most completely.

Spikes contrary to popular opinion do not decouple and will allow vibration to pass in either direction. Yes, spikes are coupling devices. This has been discussed many times in Audiogon threads. Yes, they are sometimes discussed interchangeably...

I owned a Lampizator Baltic 3 for a while. I enjoyed it, but I got burned out with the tubeous nervosa that swirls in the Lampizator world. It fed my OCD. I tend to favor a solid state front end with tube amplification, although I have a 6SN7 ful...

To my ears the M21 and M1 Series II (that I just sold) sound identical from their delta sigma and DSD DACs. Virtually no difference. I saw a used M21 for sale, so I bought it. The ladder DAC is interesting. More of an incisive characteristic. I’m...

Nice write-up @jsalerno277. I owned a Bricasti M1 SE when I brought in a Mola Mola Tambaqui for an audition. My preference is naturalness. Naturalness above all else. Image size is important, and comes with excellent resolution. I find Bricasti c...

I owned a Lampizator Baltic 3 (Engine 11). I enjoyed it.  It’s a very good suggestion.

@tvad point well taking, but tough to demo if you’re buying used, which maybe be my case, depending on the price! I understand your point. I will just offer my experience, which has been to purchase several used DACs (Bricasti M3, Bricasti M1S...

For DACs Mola Mola is excellent. I would be cautious on the Weiss… very analytical. Interesting how we hear differently, depending on our biology, or systems, or rooms. I auditioned a Mola Mola Tambaqui and thought it sounded analytical. I’ve...

Has anyone actually physically  checked to see any vibration in their speakers with no music playing and with music playing before using the podiums?    Well, I never checked vibration in my speakers with no music playing, because I didn’t see ...
40+ watts SET, cost is not a problem
Ralph, AGD and others make Class D SS amps that would work... In a broad stroke, I agree. Whether changing amplification will provide... openness and dimensionality of tone ...is another question all together. "Openness and dimensionality...
40+ watts SET, cost is not a problem
Everyone realizes that @pani is asking for a friend, not for himself, right? In his original post, he wrote: I have a query on behalf of a close buddy of mine. So, while the detailed advice is great, one wonders how much will be imparted, or ...
ModWright Products
Modwright is a very balanced sound, not unlike Pass Labs in general.    I think you’d be moving sideways at best by switching from Pass Labs to Modwright, and if your Pass Labs amplifier is Class A vs Class A/B, then it would be even more pronoun...
