Quicksilver M60 vs Early Silver 88
I heard a pair of M60s many years back, can't really comment with any meaningful comparison with the later Silver 88, compatable with the kt150 tubes and what I currently use. The Silver 88 is a most exceptional amp with nada a one irritant that f...
Whats the FATTEST sounding Tube amp to warm up Lean speakers?
I for one would not characterize the Quicksilver midmonos as "fat" by any definition of the word but it very well may flesh out the lean character of the mid/upper bass of these speakers which is where the issue lies IME. Agree, that many stock vi...

What is the most memorable concert that you had attended so far?
Find you too something what Bdp24 whatever your real name is? Lucky you from a 14 year old 1964 die hard Beach Boy fan. It would be MY personal favorite as well and I've seen more than a few  in many genres in many places including 3 later Beach B...
Best Recording of Scheherazade
The 1958 Beecham is quite special  for the reasons given above notably tonal color and a most magical performance, it is a must have for those that love this piece.
What albums, in your opinion, sound unquestionably better on Vinyl rather than Digital?
Where to start? Too many to note a clear example off the top of my head as I just recently demoed to a friend to demonstrate vinyl’s appeal, Nancy Griffith’s "One Fair Summer Evening", a live club performance.
Big vintage amps worth paying for and keeping for a long time
Roberjerman, do you mean a Perreaux 2150B? I too have one, sitting in my garage. Thanks for reminding me🤔
BEST FEMALE VOCAL EVER
Jperry Jane Fielding kind of reminds me of Margaret Whiting who was it seems a bit more famous than some of the now forgotten girls from the 50's in your link, thanks for that!. Check out "Time After Time" by Margaret very 50's style in delivery t...
BEST FEMALE VOCAL EVER
Well I'm not too sure that time forgot Ella or Sarah but give it time as all things must pass. Thanks for the link Jperry.  P.S.  Didn't ever really appreciate Doris Day as a kid, thought her movies, particularly with Rock Hudson were really obnox...
BEST FEMALE VOCAL EVER
For me, my favorite, range, tone, improv ability which is bottomless and sheer listenability, Sarah Vaughn. Can't argue with any of the above, love Ella too for many of the same reasons as Sarah but less to degree, Sarah was a true genius both voc...
why do people feel the need to buy expensive cable
Glad to see you bought into the MIT, Transparent "network" Dave, good for you. I once owned a pair of MIT cables, specifically the 770 for tube electronics, talk about specific for the application. Believe me, no objections, very nice in that syst...

While we're talking names how about the "Boss" from Asbury Park. My opinion is I have none, there are too many to name one above all.

Hi Changeout, First off my room is larger than yours, 20 x 28x 10' ceiling opening to an adjacent 9x12x10, essentially an L shaped space, excellent accoustically. Low powered tube amps work well with certain types of music and in smaller rooms. Th...
