The one component that you wish you had not bought
Interesting to see the Wadia WT 2000 on this list. I saw one more than 20 years ago and always wanted it. There were a couple on Audiogon a year ago but I just couldn't pull the trigger on something almost three decades old. I feel better already.
Interview with Ian Anderson-Jethro Tull- Early Tull on Vinyl
Thanks for the article. I have always been a Tull fan since the beginning. I saw them a few years ago at the Paramount in Oakland. I heard just yesterday that Ian Anderson will be touring later this year. Good news!

McIntosh MVP-871, bought as a demo unit at Magnolia A/V. It never worked right despite two trips to their repair facility. McIntosh had refused to offer any warranty as it was too long out of production. I see McIntosh universal players for sale o...
I was thinking the other day about all the audio stores that were around when I was a kid
FWIW, I just remembered that the all-McIntosh store on Ventura Blvd in Studio City that I mentioned earlier was named Eamon's Audio (or Emmon's?). Just wanted to clear that up (LOL)!
I miss the Audio classified ads of the 70's and 80's in the newspaper
nonoise...that's hilarious!I remember very well reading every line in the "Hi-Fi &Stereo Components" column in the Los Angeles Times classified section every day back in the 60's and 70's. I miss those days but still find lots of stuff to brow...
Another musician has died
I guess we should have expected that this would begin to happen. We only seem to hear about the biggest names but many of their collateral band members are passing away in obscurity. It's a very sad situation and I feel bad for them, their family ...
Pioneer DV-09 plays DVD's not CD's help
The Pioneer Elite DV-09 is a wonderful player that does NOT require that CDs be placed upside down. I sold mine years ago and regretted it quite     a bit. However, even a player of this quality can have a laser wear out. I'm facing a similar dile...
I was thinking the other day about all the audio stores that were around when I was a kid
We moved to Northern California in 1986 from Southern California. I have always spent time in stereo stores so I visited many in the bay area. The names that come to mind are:DB Audio, in Berkeley;Music Lovers, in Berkeley;Audible Difference, in P...

needfreestuff,Walt sold me an early pair of Infinity Servo-Statik 1's in the early 70's. The crossover developed a buzz and quickly failed, so I took it in to Walt and he sent it to Infinity in Chatsworth. After waiting about four months and compl...
McIntosh
tenorsaxjr,There is no need to defend Mcintosh on this website or any other. Everyone has their favorite manufacturers. Ask a Chevy guy what he thinks of Ford and you will hear a similar conflict. Those of us who own some McIntosh gear know how we...
What used speaker would you buy with $20,000-$35,000 and why?
Just FYI, there is a pair of Sonus Faber Amati Futura speakers in Red Violin for sale on Audiogon today. The price is $21,000. This is one of my favorite speakers in a drop-dead gorgeous finish. If it doesn't appeal to you I have no more advice to...
What used speaker would you buy with $20,000-$35,000 and why?
FWIW, if it were my money, I would buy a used pair of Sonus Faber or B&W speakers. I'd buy as high in the line (used) as I could for my $20,000.You won't regret it!
