Best $500 speakers for Home theater only?
Check out the pair of Mirage M3's that just came up for sale here. Those speakers are great and so is the price. They will make an excellent 2 channel home theater.
Antique Sound Labs AQ1003DT opinions wanted
I had that amp for some time aboout 5 years ago and liked it alot. It puts out 30 watts per side and will power most speakers quite well. It was smooth and had great bass. See if it has a dial on top for easy tube bias.
2-way speaker with best bass
Yeah, Altec model 19. someone else besides me putting forth 2 ways with big cabs and drivers. Why settle for 6" drivers trying to reach the depths, when the right size ones will do it with ease.
2-way speaker with best bass
Another two way that is impressing many on the Klipsch forum is the Jubilee. 2 12" drivers mated to a huge horn. 105dB. My 2 way Epic CF3's drop down into the 20's. If you don't mind a 2 way that weighs over a 100 pounds, that is.
2-way speaker with best bass
Check out the Klipsch Epic CF4 for sale on this site. A 2 way speaker but with 2 12" drivers. 102dB efficient, slamming bass.
Accurate non-boomy sub for satellite system
Check out a sub on this site for sale from Adire. It is sealed with a 15" driver. The price is right too. I have their Rava which is a sealed 12". I have had it for years and works great. I also have a second sub from Hsu going in my room. The 2 t...
Thinking of adding a subwoofer for more bass.
Get a decent sub and see how you like it. It is definately worth testing. A good subs can be had for under $500 as well, such as ones from Hsu or SVS. Experimenting is a good thing.
Efficient speaker, big bad tight bass?
Take a look at the Klipsch Epic CF4 for sale on this site and see if you can live with the size. It will do everything you want. It will slam with rock and roll. has a nice wood finish.

Sub-woofer/ Source for MAgnepan MG 1.6s
Greetings, There is nothing wrong in desiring a sub to compliment your speakers. A decent sub can put out bass that most speakers can't touch and will definately give you more enjoyment when playing rock. No need to try and get used to flat soundi...
Setup DVD needed for PJ
A quick and easy way to start is to rent one of the Pixar movies on DVD, such as Nemo or The Incredibles. They each have a THX optomizer in their disc menu, which has both an audio and video set-up feature. It will help dial in brightness and cont...
There is a Bi-amp function in my A/V Receiver.
Thanks for the replys. They are now biamped and it does add to the sound. I have had them bi-amped before to good effect, but then, only the lows and highs were going to each set of taps. It was the full range signal going to each that made me pause.
best bang/ buck - old sansui vs panasonic XR
The panasonics are no slouch when it comes to sound and features. The older receivers will not have optical or coax or hdmi connections if you want to use those.
Times when there is too much LFE...
I watched Iron Man on a blu-ray disc the other day and also thought there was something wrong with the bass.
paranoid listener-damaging speakers?
You stated, you like to hear and feel the bass, As do I. Your speakers it seems, need alot of volume to start hitting you the way you like it. What you need to do if you wish to keep those speakers, is to add a subwoofer to your system. You will g...
