Need RCA loading plugs
Thank you gentlemen for your positive and helpful responses. I have sent an email to Michael Percy Audio. They seem like the best fit for what I need. I will do a follow up post once I have gotten the plugs so that others will have the information...
Linear tracking turntables, whatever happened?
Harold in the barrel and Terry 9. I am also a happy owner of Vic's Terminator and Salvation with all of his modifications. In addition, I purchased a machined aluminum arm mount from Owen Young (Dark lantern) and will receive a graphite wand from ...
Pheonix Engineering Road Runner
Peterwhen will they be available?
Audioquest custom made triple weave design power cable (Storm Series).
I just installed the Tornado PC I bought from ricred1.I have only listened to 4 album sides so you can take this with a grain of salt but all I can say is awesome. It allowed my amp (Aesthetix Atlas Signature) to just open up. It sounded more powe...
Please help me chose a tube preamp
I have used the Calypso and then the Calypso signature with the Aesthetix Atlas signature amp for about eight years and love the combination. I would make sure that the Calypso output impedance matches well with your amp. In addition the Calypso w...
Money well spent
It looks just like the pictures of the TT and arm on the transfi website. It may not provide the eye candy of some of some of the $25k plus tables but I think it looks very good and not "homemade" at all.
Money well spent
I have used the Transfi arm for 5 years (originally on a Michell Gyro) and the Salvation TT for 3 years. I have implemented all the modifications Vic has offered to arm and table. I will never replace the Terminator/Salvation combo my only caveat ...
Recommend a Cable/Interconnect Set
I have been very pleased with Grover Huffman cables. Reasonably priced, 60 day trial and trade in if he comes out with a upgrade.
Do they make a quiet great sounding phono pre amp??
There is an Einstein Balance Turntables Choice phono pre for sale here for $3995, new they are $10,000. Slightly over of your budget but you would never need to upgrade again. I have no affiliation with seller but use a lower model Einstein phono ...
difussor's
I built five 2 x 4 foot quadratic diffusors for my front wall. I bought the plan from Acoustic Fields. Check out their website they offer a lot of good information. They really added depth, width and clarity to the soundstage. It was a lot of work...
Feedback on Ayre and Aesthetix with Vandersteen 5As
I have the Calypso and Atlas Signature. Tubes in these units have never been a problem or hassle, as stated above the Atlas only has two tubes and the Calypso has four. Both units really step up a level with NOS tubes, they can be pricey but last ...
BAT VK 250 vs Pass XA30.5 for Wilson Sophia 2
I don't have the Wilson speakers but did switch from a Rogue M-180 to Aesthetix Atlas Signature about a year ago and really liked the change. The Atlas is a 200/400 WPC into 8 and 4 ohms respectively, highbred amp with tube input and solid state o...
Aesthetix Atlas tube rolling
It is nice to get a response even if it is a year later, thank you. I have also rolled in some NOS Sylvania 6SN7's to good effect. They really opened up the sound stage and provided more bass definition.
Trans Fi Salvation direct rim drive turntable
I am wondering what cartridges/pick-ups you have used with the Terminator Arm and your opinion of each. I have the Terminator and the Salvation with magnetic bearing and feet. I have only used the Ortofon PW cartridge and I think it sounds great b...
Building a system from scratch (other than speakers)
Martin Logan electrostats have a pretty wicked impedance curve, so weather you chose tubes of SS get adequate power around 100 watts. I have Martin Logan Summits and have used both tubes and SS and they both sounded great just different.
