Where/How can I further improve PC audio quality?
To me, at this time, my Spotify Premium subscription more than satisfies. I'm delighted with their solution to streaming audio and the simple to use GUI. The sound quality I have achieved so far is close to CD playback, however, I'm attemting to "...
Where/How can I further improve PC audio quality?
I thank all of you for your input. I am not using an "on board" connection, I'm using a PCI card. At this time I am using the highest resolution the card can deliver, I'm going to try experimenting by setting the card to minimum, i.e. 16 bit 44.1K...
Cambridge Audio Product Reliability
Thanks to all for your responses! It is clear to me now that I am not going to take my hard earned $$ and risk them on Cambridge products again.
Analog vs Digital Confusion
Onhwy61 In the never ending pursuit of audio bliss, and from my personal observations vinyl is making a slow but steady comeback for that reason. Thanks for asking, I'm also entertaining the idea of valve amplification as well.Rpg
Analog vs Digital Confusion
I thank all of the responders to this post. I can see where analog has advantages over digital. The only concern I have is the "ritual" one goes through in preparing vinyl for playback and having to flip the record after the limited amount of play...
Why does the copy sound better than the original
Uh, no, a bit too cryptic for me, I'm not sure what your eluding to??Rpg
Why does the recording sound better?
I have seen "green mats" around $35 that you place on top of your CD that are claimed to improve the sound of your CD by allowing the laser in your CD drive to improve the focus of the laser and not shine through the CD, maybe this is why my light...
Why does the recording sound better?
I thank all who responded to this post, I think I now understand why my recordings sound better. Using the gold color back of the lightscribe copy of the original may have helped. I am now wondering, does anyone have a suggestion as to the best me...

Ozzy, thanks for the feedback. A number of cables I tested were smoother at the top, a Kimber comes to mind, but for me I liked the extended detail of the HC cable in which some may call it a bit bright. However when I compared it to strait CD pla...

Ozzy, you have had some time to break-in the HAVE/Canare 6' Digital IC, what is your conclusion with this cable? If you have found it was not the best Digital IC you have used, what did you replace it with that sounded better and what was the reta...
The best digital IC, period.
Ozzy, I'm glad your pleased. I think the HAVE/Canare option is a great place for people to start especially in the dark waters of IC's. I believe there indeed may be other cables out there that may sound better in their system than the HaveFlex, b...

Ozzy, let us know what you think after a listen. My 6' pair that I tried sounded dark and a little slow compared to my 3' cable, but the math suggests 1.5M minimum, so it will be very interesting to hear back from you! Happy listening!Rpg

Hey Ozzy, did you go for it and if you did what do you think. You mentioned you needed a 2M cable, can you get by with 1.5M? If you can this is one of the most popular length for a number of technical reasons.

Audioengr, $685. I'm trying to share my experience that a $25 can, and most likely is, nipping at the heals of such crazy expensive cables here.
