What exactly is "B stock"?
In addition to the above, I suspect the occasional tout of B stock may reflect a sales person's effort to circumvent a dealer's factory authorized territory, often citing the opened box or slight blemish in consequence, when in fact the goods are ...
Please, DON'T TOUCH
If you have pets expect the kid to chase them at full tilt around the room with the usual consequences. Without pets watch for the peanut butter sandwich in the CD drawer routine. It's hilarious!
More Newbie Balanced Cable Help
Think of it this way: The male XLR represents an output and the female an input. Whether on components or cables this means the male pins offer signal and the females accept signal. This is the convention but in the odd case may be ignored. Can't ...
Capping unused rca & xlr connectors???
They also keep dust and insects out.
The last 5 ?????
Similar threads touting the undescribable and miraculous transformation, after repeated and exhaustive trials, some cord or wire imparted to a system remind me of a part of Voltaire's Candide. Exsqueeze me if I remember it poorly but it went somet...
The last 5 ?????
Jade, my observation was not an attempt to rate you, your logic or choices. But given your predilection for a numerical methodology to come to grips with your pursuit I can see why you might see it that way. You're a pioneer of sorts and I applaud...
spikes for speakers or something else?
If you're lucky the spikes will drain resonant energy from those monster cabs. Get longer ones that'll pierce the carpet and pad thru to the sub floor.
Soaking in pause mode improves CD transport snd?
Pause keeps the CD spinning at required speed, rather than having to wind up from rest and servo over to where it needs to be. I've noticed that the flexi ribbon wire attached to the read head can sometimes act like a spring, causing the the head ...
The last 5 ?????
As Ziggy Stardust pours from my 10 year old $12 Aiwa FM clock radio on top of the refrigerator my only comment is 100% of what - a feeling of comfort with your system? Analytical nirvana? The Mona Lisa doesn't need to be in the Louvre to be apprec...
Why do new cables needs to be "broken" ???
It's a proven fact that cables kept in captivity, even mistreated ones, eventually come to view their owners as parental figures. Once aware of their complete dependence on you for their very existence, the expensive ones especially so, they foreg...

Threshold Fet 10E bi-amping question
Others have reported the loss of gain using the balanced out of the Fet ten/e into an e series amp. Must be normal and maybe due to the equal impedance characteristics.Jon's link is active if you need it:http://www.vintageamprepair.net/
Why do new cables needs to be "broken" ???
Pierre the only logical reason is that the cable doesn't burn in at all. Your amp and speakers must unlearn the old cables by gradually adjusting to the new cables' capacitance, inductance and conductivity. Think outside the box and you'll get it.
Doug Henning disappearing act
Horseface, I'm with you on the resellers. What's even worse are sellers posting ads for items they do not yet possess. Ericthered, the reason sellers get offended when you ask for the minimum price is because you are asking them to bid against the...
Doug Henning disappearing act
Maybe it's a stretch in this anonymous, fear of intimacy, internet age but I've found the telephone a useful tool to seal a bargain, buying or selling. If they're too chicken to put there mouth where their money is, how interested could they be?
