| My first Tube Amplifier A modded Peter Tyson Quad II mod in metallic ‘gold’ bought for £1100 sold for £1150then croft 25r pre (hybrid) now a Leben 300xs in second system. Think the icon audio delivers value for money so may head down for a listen at some point. | |

| Curious what people think is the best "value" high end speaker (~5K to 15K) Smaller Harbeth 30.1 is my main speaker in a 7mx5mx3.5m tall lounge ..... spaced using cardas method but sound is sublime. 40.2 would surely be even better. Need a decent power amp though | |

I was in similar boat with Harbeth - too much for Quad 2 - I like the valve ‘untruth’ so I went Croft pre which is valve hybrid into ATC P1. Quad do a nice DSP tranny power amp but if you use a nice pre then something like a Yamaha 3500 to carry t... |
