Recommendations for a new integrated amp for Vandersteen 3a speakers
I've owned 2 of the integrateds you are looking at.  First was the Vincent.  I liked it but it had problems with the tubes.  German design, chinese build.  Sound was very pleasing.  Laid back presentation.  The music traveled to you it didn't atta...
Replacing components, Please weigh in!
Take a look at the musical fidelity m6si integrated and then look at the musical fidelity nu Vista vinyl phono pre.  I have these 2 components and I think I may be buried with them cuz I enjoy them that much. I say this cause the music u play is s...
What’s your vote for the most ridiculous, overpriced, and useless tweak?
I'll go the other direction....the best tweaks are a good glass of scotch, a poke of herbal essence and the wonderful cover of night.  System always sounds great under these conditions.
So just how much vinyl do YOU own?
I own a couple hundred records.  I jumped back to vinyl after buying CD's for 40 yrs.  What I've done is looked at my large CD collection and decided that on vinyl I would buy only the album's I truly loved.  So for me it's all killer not filler i...

Need help solving a system problem
Just wanted to thank everyone for their input.  Here's an update:. I purchased Harrison labs 30Hz high pass plugs and although it allows me to play it a little louder the rumble still occurs at about the 2 o'clock position.  Once again not playing...
Recommend Affordable Integrated Amps (Solid State or Tube)
Check out the Musical Fidelity M6si...its a powerhouse with a great design.  Its solid state but has a smooth punchy delivery that I enjoy. Its design is basically two mono blocks inside one chassis.  Havent tried the phono stage but also use Musi...
MQA•Foolish New Algorithm? Vote!
3 things need to be said...1. the only reason MQA exists is for the portion of the population that wants audiophile quality that is portable.2. laziness. there are times when I’m listening to my record collection and don’t want to get up every 10-...
Upgrading Turntable suggestions
Feeling the need to tinker and possibly get more detail and soundstage from my records.
Amplification question - PrimaLuna Tubes vs. McIntosh Solid State
The answer is simple:  to create the warmth for the digital music the tubes can work their magic.  Your ears will thank you
What is your speaker ownership history since 1995?
Simple for me...Phase technologyNHT SB2 with nht subNHT classic 4'sTotem forestMartin Logan EthosFavorite out of all....hands down the ethos
Best integrated from this list...
I have a similar sized room and use a Vincent SV237 hybrid integrated and the sound is smooth clean bright and boisterous.  My speakers are ML ethos.  I had in my decision a Musical Fidelity M5si...but went for the tubes
Finally stepping into the hobby after 30 years of watching from the sidelines
I would definitely spend money on room treatment. Especially for a room that size. You could have a $100K system in there and it would sound like crap without room treatment. Try audimute.com or gikacoustics.com . As far as components go....what s...
