Any good FM tuners around for less than $200?
Not that I have anything to compare it to, but I will let you guys know what I think of the Eico 2200 when I receive it and have had a chance to listen to it for a bit; should have it early next week. :-)Holly
Any good FM tuners around for less than $200?
I have decided to go with a modded Eico Classic 2200. This is not one of the tuners recommended in this thread and the brand doesn't even get a mention on FMTuner Info, but I have read some positive things about the tuner and trust the opinion of ...
Silicone fluid for Moerch tonearm damping?
lol - I agree with you, Ptmconsulting. I won't go through the hassle until I actually know if the tonearm needs the damping fluid. I didn't realize it would end up being a hassle when I started this thread, of course. I was sure someone here would...
Silicone fluid for Moerch tonearm damping?
lol - I hate using the phone because I am tied to it all day by my work, plus I like to have the "paper trail" made possible by emails. But, point taken - if I decide I want to go through with damping the tone arm and I can't live without finding ...

Thank you once again, Al. :-)My Carissa power amp does have the optional volume control (and a remote.) I want a vintage tube tuner! lol Anyway, I am glad to hear that my amp will match well with tube tuners. Now to find one!I will try to be patie...
Any good FM tuners around for less than $200?
I do not have a preamp in my system, and my amp does not have a mono switch. My two channel system consists of an Art Audio Carissa tube power amp and Cain and Cain Abby speakers, with a Teres Audio turntable/Wright Audio tube phono stage and an A...
Any good FM tuners around for less than $200?
Thank you for your comments on the FM-90X, Al. It sounds as if you enjoyed yours, though you have since gone on to "bigger and better" tuners. Also, thank you for the digital vs analog information - now I understand! If I decide to go mono, I think...
Record cleaning fluids
I, too, started cleaning records with the use of the Audio Intelligent solutions, back when Paul Frumkin was the owner/manufacturer. My DIY RCM is in their RCM museum. I still use the Audio Intelligent 3-step solutions; haven't tried the "all in o...
Silicone fluid for Moerch tonearm damping?
I don't know what is going on with Mehran. Hans Moerch apparently forwarded the email I sent to him about the damping fluid to Mehran, so Mehran had that email as well as the one I originally sent at the beginning of February. He responded on 2/19...
what do I need to connect an analog turntable to a
Are you talking about using an integrated receiver with your turntable? Your receiver needs to have a decent phono input, or you will need to get a phono stage/phono preamp that you connect via RCA interconnects to an unused set of inputs on the r...
Any good FM tuners around for less than $200?
I am somewhat confused by analog vs digital when it comes to tuners. This is not the equivalent of tubes vs solid state, is it? Without getting really technical, what are the main differences - a dial vs a button, or....??On another note, does any...
Any good FM tuners around for less than $200?
I would like to get a tuner from the heyday of radio, but finding someone local who can do the alignment would probably not be easy, Schubert, so I guess you would have to trust the seller when she/he says they did do the essential service/alignme...
Any good FM tuners around for less than $200?
It takes so long for a new thread to be posted on Audiogon that I usually don't check back for a day or so, but I actually somehow forgot I had started this one until today, and look at all of the responses! I have had a bit of a financial setback...
Silicone fluid for Moerch tonearm damping?
lol - I knew what hors de combat meant, just didn't know - and still don't know - what that means in reference to Hudson Audio. I never got a response from them so I will interpret it to mean that they are out of business.Thank you for your thorou...
Removing Morch DP-6 tonearm wires from cartridge
Yep, I will be removing the arm wand to install the cartridge - much easier and less likely to damage something! Another nice thing about the Moerch DP-6. I did finally receive my cartridge so I will be installing it later this week. :-)Holly
