PS Audio 300 vs Tice powerblock II
Does tice make vaccuums?
The most musical system you ever build?
Yesterday I was doing some work around the house so I put a simply vinyl Elvis album on my TT. The listening room is in the basement and I was upstairs. It sounded like Elvis was trapped in my basement. It was kinda eerie having a dead person down...
bad experiences buying on line
I got an e-mail from the guy a couple of days ago. He has been told to repost the Krell KPE reference. He asked me if I was interested. I did not respond but so far it hasn't been posted yet. I'm still considering feedback since money did change h...
PS Audio 300 vs Tice powerblock II
DetlofYou are right. The Sota turntable has an outboard power supply/vaccuum and already regulates the power so the PS Audio would be redundant in that application. Good call!
PS Audio 300 vs Tice powerblock II
It is my intention to use the PS Audio 300 only for my front-end. I'm not sure if I will keep the Tice for the amp or sell it. The PS will be for my SCD-777es, the Sota Star, and my Krell KRC2, it should be fine with just those pieces plugged into...
Words From the Wise
1) The most important thing in your system is your source. Regardless of whether you use CDs, LPs or tapes. 2) The second most important thing is what you use to retieve the music. On a LP system it would be A) Cartridge B) Tonearm C) Turntable. I...
Big Difference With New Source?
I must respectfully disagree with some of these posts. I am not a Linn fan but I agree with his philosophy in regard to hiarchy of importance. The single most important thing you own is your source, LP, CD, or whatever you use. The second most imp...

Having been to many concerts in different theaters or concert halls from the US to western Europe I have to say that each hall has sounded different. Each time the viola has sounded like a viola but it never sounded the same as in the last hall. D...
Is it possible for something to be the best?
Thanks for the input. This was really an interesting discussion. I am delighted to know that I have the best system and the rest of you will have to catch me even if your system is more expensive and measures better. Oh well, I gotta go there's a ...

People buy HIEND equipment to listen to the music they like. Classical music is no more intrinsicly better than rock than Bach is better than Mozart. Why would someone who loves Frank Zappa or Neil Young (neither of which I like) buy a Berloiz alb...
Aragon 8008-BB...what balanced preamplifier to use
I had a Counterpoint SA 5.1 that was problematic for a few years before I finally wouldn't put up with it anymore. Tubes sound good for the few days that they're between break-in and break-down but all things considered they are not worth the trou...

Aragon 8008-BB...what balanced preamplifier to use
I have the 8008 amp and use a Krell KRC 2 with it. I've tried tubes and SS and like the solid state pre-amps much better. The KRC 2 is fully balanced throughout and has a great sound. It is line level and you did not mention if you need a phono se...

If I find a system that makes Celine Dion sound good I'll market it and get rich. Singers like her were the reason for scan buttons on the radio.I forgot about the Lyle Lovett, I use several of his recordings too.I don't buy or audition things oft...

Do you have any recommendations for sourceing the needed supplies for rewiring and getting binding posts?
