Thanks for the heads up. Sounds interesting. I have been enjoying Kevn Kinney and the Golden Palomino's "A Good Country Mile." On this one, the Drivn n Cryn front man teams up with Anton Fier and some great NY session players to create Kinney's be...
Live in your Detroit recordings...
Jimmy Thackery has an excellent import "Live In Detroit" if you like electric guitar driven blues. I think I also have some old Iggy Pop in Detroit, but the quality of his live recordings varies dramatically. Iggy Pop rocks when he is on though.

I am with you Ghosthouse and Pehare. After reading this post yesterday, I dusted off 12 Dreams of Dr. Sardonicus and played it last night. I had forgotten what a great sounding album it is. "Nothing To Hide" and "Mr. Skin" are great songs. I may h...

I love Jeff Beck, but Clapton and Young's music is more commercially accessible. I imagine Mick and Keith would want to weigh in on my opinion as well- and let's not forget Pete Townshend.

I saw U2 at the Hammersmith Odeon in 1980. They had just released "War" and were about to break through internationally. The Edge sat behind a grand piano and would rotate between a pedal steel and piano; the whole time banging an electric guitar ...
Blues, Jazz, Rock Violinists?
Dixie Dregs aka the Dregs. The first four albums are the best with "Dregs of the Earth' being my favorite. "California Screamin" is a live disc that has a good version of "Peaches in Regalia" if you like Zappa type violin arrangements. The violin ...

eleet-Mother's Finest is great. They were a big part of the soundtrack to my youth growing up in Atlanta. They still play around town from time to time. My favorites are the self titled Mother's Finest, Another Mother Further, and the live album. ...
2012 Discoveries
Harry Manx is excellent. I recommend "Road Ragas" which is an older live cd. When he plays the Indian moganveeda (sp?), it is magic. The instrument is basically a 21 string sitar underneath a 6 string guitar you play on your lap. When Manx hits a ...

Not really on topic, but Steve Morse has a new band called Flying Colors releasing a new album next month. Neal Morse and Mike Portnoy are also in the group. Hopefully it won't be too pretentious.
ever been duped ordering "new" CDs on Amazon?
Years ago I bought "Best of the Guess Who" from a fellow in Canada off of Ebay. He sent me an obscure single called "the Worst Mistake you Ever Made" with the note "Ha Ha". I was furious and not satisfied with merely complaining to Ebay. I had pai...

Kjweisner and Sounds_real_audio:FYI-The Sacred Sources cd I mentioned in my post contains the only live version of Riviera Paradise by SRV and is why I recommended it.

Best Live Album Ever...
great choices so far. Lindisfarne, I really like your sleepers Uriah Heep and David Live. David Sandborn on David Live adds a nice element. I would add Yessongs (still my favorite Yes album) and Roxy Music Live from 2001. My sleeper is Rare Earth ...
