Fertin 20EX-fullrange- Fieldcoil-32Ohm driver in open-baffle(if you have the space) could be a really easy load for your YamanotoA-08S
open baffle vs sealed box designs
You could get the Fertin 20EX. They're great in an open baffle. You get stunning clarity and speed and surprising bass. You'll pay a bit more. The baffles are easy to build and not expensive at all. You could e-mail me and I can send you the ...
single driver with bass...????
Fertin 20EX will get you from 40K to 20K in a cabinet. Some get 32hz to 20Khz but here again it depends on the cabinet. In an open baffle you'll need a 15 inc to go to 20Khz. They'll go down to 100khz maybe 80khz in an open-baffle. But here again,...
Ordered Visaton B200 for open baffle. Am I alone?
I have a different driver in a o-b too and I could describe the sound that I hear as having the same quality as mbhcid just mentioned. I notice also that a cd could sound fantastic as another really bad.At first I tought that it was the speakers, ...
Why hasn't America discovered the Fertin sound yet
Anyway, what I wanted to tell Audiogoners is to try a new approach to music, that is the fielcoil-full-range-open baffle.Instead of paying for a box , you'll be listening to fantastic music.Last thing on these drivers, in your cd collection you wi...

Great question. At first in my quest for the ideal drivers.I wanted one with a high efficiency that I would use with a set amp. I was quite interested in the Tannoys. What made me change my mind was my search on the net about fieldcoil drivers. Th...

Why hasn't America discovered the Fertin sound yet
Ushlues the year was 1924 not 1923. I gues what make this sound special would be the combination of an open-baffle with a full-range fieldcoil driver. Thanks metralla , a friend just send me the same thread and I will experiment with this type of ...

What I wish in this post is to meet and exchange ideas with people who have a similar set-up(open-baffle and a Fertin20ex) and see if what they are experiencing is the same as I. Yes, I'm overenthusiatic about this set-up and to hear people's opin...
Paintings, Artwork, Poster's let's hear it.
I paint as a hobby. I have about 60 paintings all over the house. So My last painting goes between my speakers and I look and think of all the improvements that I should do.
Tube virgin no more
For tube, you should check the Fertin fielcoil drivers. A Fertin 20EX(8inch) with a 38EX (15inch) in an open-baffle should be pretty good with tubes (100db-8ohms). It would cost less than the Definition 1.5. See the pictures in diyaudio(Fertin pro...
