I'm at a digital loss or getting over UI mountain
This one hits hard for me. I'll probably buy a purpose built streamer of good repute and see how it goes.

Good words concerning the paradigm shift. I will heed these.
Miyajima MADAKE experience
Very late to this thread but, I own a Miyajima Kansui, a Madake, and a Koetsu Rosewood Signature. I liked the Kansui well enough but, after I had it retipped the first time, it seemed like a different and better cartridge. I've retipped it twice b...
Help me understand John Coltrane .... seriously.
Totally loving the Kenny G stuff here! As to Coltrane, well, so you don’t like it - move on. I love Interstellar Space but, then again I’m totally into Lustmord, Zoviet France, Paul Panhuysen, Stockhausen, Sun Ra, Whitehouse, John Zorn, Napalm Dea...
Which is REALLY the best Conrad Johnson Preamp
PV14 > ET3 SE > ET5Each step better than the last. I remember Jeff Fischel saying expect"more" of everything with the ET 5 - he was so right.
High value, giant killer speakers?
I felt that the early Sonus Faber's and ProAc's had something special about them - Supertowers and Minima Amators....
Any other lone audiophiles here?
I feel you. I have completely built my system off audio shows - when they occur near me. That and manufacturers. I bought a used SOTA turntable many years ago through the paper. Now I realize what a deal I got. The guy came over and setup the turn...
What was your first big eye opener with regard to audio?
Early 90's hearing the Sonus Faber Electa Amators backed by Classe electronics. The speakers disappeared and the soundstage was past the walls. The salesman played Mickey Hart's Planet Drum. Never forget it.
Metal cabinet speakers
Nobody mentioned Piega Speakers from Switzerland. Amazing speakers.
The best speaker for a small room...at any price point.
Dynaudio Special 25, Joseph Audio Pulsars, any awesome Sonus Faber 2-way: Electa Amator, Guareni...
Replacing my MFA Luminescence B2 preamp
FOR GOD"S SAKE, the Luminescence is one of the most sought after pieces in audio history. It’s phonostage is the stuff of legend. Call Scott Frankland, original designer. He’ll keep you in action. (408) 432-1500 [email protected] you want to ...
I’m gob smacked. What were you’re aha moments?
The first time I heard the Sonus Faber Electa Amator’s....
Thinking about upgrading, but wondering about diminishing returns
Lots of good responses here. I agree with most of these and wouldn’t really add much. i too have an all CJ system that lives in my living room. I do not have the luxury of having a dedicated sound room. I recently removed all the furniture from th...
CJ Premier 17LS2 vs ET5/7
I'm about to receive a ET-5. I currently own a ET-3 SE. Kevin Deal from upscale recommends the Russian tube 6N23P. I have several vintage from Reflektor as well as the Voskhod plants. I've also seen the Mullard E188CC recommended. Will be looking ...
Tube amp repair in the SF Bay Area
I would also recommend Scott Frankland of MFA/Wavestream Kinetics/Wells Audio fame. He does custom work and I always see interesting stuff in his shop. He keeps my tube stuff running and prospering. He's in San Jose at [email protected].
