Phono Cart Impedance Question
I have the vtph-2a and with needle off, volume cranked, ear a foot away from speaker, I certainly hear white noise. When I drop the needle nothing except some very loud tunes and some extra clicks and pops. At volumes I typically listen at, nothin...
Phono Preamp - 2k budget?
I second @hagtech, make sure it is a tubed-pre. plenty of choices

you're welcome. i certainly wouldn’t worry about two different sources being at a matched volume. it’s cool for A/B-ing, but thats about it. more importantly is how is the sound? the vtph-2a will take your vinyl experience to another level.....

I just popped the WE 6SN7 in my microzotl and they are exceptionally good with no time. Do they continue to bloom with more hours?
Standmount speakers. I have $5000.
I forgot to mention Sonner Audio. I have listened to their stand mounts two years in a row at Lonestar Audio Fest and they are very good! This year they were driven by Class A/B Norma Audio Integrated.
RMAF 2019!
@andrewkelley this Jewish boy loves him some deli. I am ft worth but next time I am in the area, I'll get you a very small step closer to the Wilsons 😊

@usery boxer v1's were my first, "real speaker." powered them with rogue audio gear. as mentioned, they really do like tubes!

Man I like really Nola boxers, they have a nice sound. Harbeth are really good too. You may want to touch base with Skip at audio thesis and have a look at the Rosso Fiorentino, which I felt bested both Nola's and Harbeth.
Phono stage for my system?
I like the lounge audio (silver) with Coppola for mc carts. My buddy has one, quiet, and more importantly musical. My preference is tubes in pre's but that usually comes with a cost. You can certainly look for a used rogue Ares, won't get better t...
Tool Fear Inoculum impressions
I misinformed. When he said album, he meant CD. Huge bummer - sorry
Tool Fear Inoculum impressions
My buddy just picked up two copies (LP's) at Walmart of all places. Great album!
Need Integrated Amp with Moving Coil Input
LKV Research (Verito-1) has a nice integrated with mc input. I've heard it with harbeth. Only knock for some would be it's ncore. Certainly sounded good, not quite on the level as some tube gear. Harbeths do like some juice and it provides it in s...
A moderate priced dac
@oldschool1948 tubed dacs are excellent. You are in for a real treat. And the statement no less 😊
