Good arms for catridge swappers
I have a MA-505Mk3 on my slate SP10mk2 and it's really a good performer for not too much money. I have a straight wand and heavier S shaped want for various headshells i have. Very convenient.Like Dgrarretson, I also have a Transfi T3Pro linear tr...
suggestions on small footprint phono stages
RSA Nighthawk battery power phono. It beats GCPH easily for less money IMO as I had the GCPH earlier which was underwhelming. Nighthawk is quite dynamic, high gain but quiet, smooth mid with non strident high and it provides flexible loading.
Kenwood KP-990, anyone familiar with this model?
08-05-10: Ebm wroteNOT VERY GOOD get TW TABLE if you really want to hear LP. What a lot of bollocks! You can enjoy vinyl via various means other than TW ok. You are so one eyed it's not funny anymore :)Now back to the topic, I don't have direct ex...
SOTA Cosmos or Garrard 301 ?
Garrard 301 can be a rumbly noisy thing in a flimsy plinth all the way to a top flight reworked 301 from S. Dobbins and other avid skilled DIYers. So your question about comparison is too non specific and that's before talking about arm, cart, sys...
Vintage Phono Stage? pros and cons
I had the pleasure of using a vintage Accuphase C-240 preamp recently for a few weeks when it was loaned to me. The thing is a build like a tank and i found the build in phonostage to be very good. 2 inputs, switchable headamp circuit for LOMC , l...
Add Verus Drive to Basis or go Lenco
Hi Lewm,No but it might be a possibility in the future.
Add Verus Drive to Basis or go Lenco
Agree with Lewn and I have a slate SP10 mk2 too. I just finished putting my slate PTP3 Lenco together a few days ago and paired with a Transfi T3 Pro linear tracker, it's truly a fantastic combination. And I can take both further too in the future ...
Anyone using a Lyra Delos yet?
I did get my Delos back from Lyra after the adjustment as suggested by Jonathan. It's now riding with good clearance and still sounds good. Thanks.
New Lyra Delos Cartridge
I got my Delos back today after adjustment by Lyra for low riding ( thanks Jonathan) and I've been playing it on my Exclusive P3 for a few hours. Wow..It's superd combination, dynamic, good timbre and delineation soundscape. I agree about it being...
Anyone own a Pioneer Exclusive P3 ??
It sounds fabulous. I'm a believer. Worth the pain to get it.
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
Dgob wrote earlier :Jaspert,If you're enjoying those cartridges through the EAR 834P, I can strongly recommend you try the EAR 324 solid state phono. You can read the various reviews by googling it online and I really think you would notice the d...
Anyone own a Pioneer Exclusive P3 ??
Just got mine today and it sounds fabulous so far with a Technic EPC 205mk3 i put on, quite a bit better than my other DD, a slate SP10mk2 and a few idlers i have. Initial impression is one of great bass, impressicve oundstage size , very dynamic ...
Brinkmann Bardo
Good to see some new DD on the market.I think the "Magnetic drive" must the marketing department idea. As noted it's kind of rehashing of old tech but it sounds good or more sexy for the salesman.
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
I have a Nighthawk too and the difference between 47 and 100kohm is subtle at best. Both Ortofon M20FL and Azden YMP50VL sounds fine at 47kohm with EAR 834P and Allnic H1500SE MM. Just install the Azden and enjoy it instead of worrying about P-mou...
Ortofon A90 with Graham Phantom
Agree wth Downunder about the Ortofon working fine on the Phantom. And the aluminium spacer with holes for screw in inserts is being made by a member of Lenco heaven.I'd asked him about it and i think it's about 2.35mm thick.
