Miles Davis - Sketches Of Spain- Inside Story 1960
This was part of a inter-office memorandum. Most likely done by a Columbia staff writer as we had many of them that wrote a lot of the liner notes for Columbia. Noted that present were also critics from NYT, NYHT, Downbeat, Time and probably some ...

Ebay LP Purchases
With the demise of the $1.00 no reserve auctions on Audiogon I am basically out of business here. I have had to return to eBay, Amazon and Gemm. Hoping to see the return of the $1.00 no reserve part of Audiogon, but I am going to hold my breath on...
Sad news for VPI - from their Facebook page...
This is truly heartbreaking to learn of. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Kenwood KD-500-Use it or Lose It?
There is nothing I know of in the $500.00 range that is going to offer the same level of performance of what you have. If the KD500 was mine I would put a Rega arm on it and get on with spinning the vinyl. Just my nickels worth of advice.
Kenwood KD-500-Use it or Lose It?
I agree with theSoundhouse post. Unless you have the all time golden ear, one can't do much better than this venerable performer. The table is a tank with excellent build qualities, have never seen one of these fail. Put a good arm on it like the ...

Turntable advice-thorens questions
I beg to differ on the support in regards to the VPI HW 19 MK 1 through MK IV turntables. As a owner of a MK IV, I have always received great support on this table when the need has come about. My last support for this table was about 3 months ago...
Turntable advice-thorens questions
With over 53 years in this hobby and having been down every route imaginable. My best advise is to buy a VPI or Sota. Both are American made tables, should service be an issue these companies remain in business and are financially stable. Both VPI...
Review: Thorens TD 295 MK 4 Turntable
Being the OP on this some 6 years ago, I am totally dismayed that this product is still in production and being purchased by unsuspecting consumers. It still remains as sad commentary on the once proud Thorens name, that is no longer.
Why 24/7 warm-up period on amps?
Great post some valid points. But to be fully informed call 1-800-Nelson Pass. Or viisit www.passlabs.com he has many white papers with the info you seek, some going back several years. Of course it helps if you can communicate with him on his lev...
Preamp recommendation for Bryston 4B-NRB
If you want all those features go for the NAD 3130 integrated amp and use it as a preamp. There is a review of it here on Audiogon that I wrote sometime back. You can always find this model on Audiogon or eBay for that matter.
If you could bring back one great artist that has
Although not a performing artist, though he did play piano. Is Billy Strayhorn, who composed many of the hits for Duke Ellington. He died all to early at age 51 in 1967. We can only surmise the body of work that was yet to come. But nonetheless wh...
