Gryphon Diablo 300 vs Vitus RI-101
@thieliste if you want an amp that isn’t forward sounding and harsh Vitus could be a good option for you.  From my experience the RI-101 mk2 is the complete opposite of those two things.  Very natural and organic no matter what the volume.
Audioquest vs. Others
AudioQuest makes decent cables, they started losing my interest when it became price prohibitive and also technically impossible to get their best cables.  Technically impossible due to the fact that if don't have bi-wire capable speakers then you...
Ethernet Cables
Actually, very consistent. Many who have tried it heard an improvement. And those who always claim things don’t work without ever trying anything, unsurprisingly claim there is no improvement.Take your pick. The opinion of folks who tried it, or t...
Gryphon Diablo 300 Has Arrived: First Impressions.
Highly recommend Ansuz cables. I moved from an AQ Hurricane to Ansuz A2 and it opened up things quite a bit.  Black background with crisp highs.  I found the Hurricane darkened the sound across the board for my system.  I felt this to be the case ...
What are Your Favorite Tweeters?
Borresen’s tweeter is amazing in terms of speed and resolution.  Natural timbre, very smooth yet crisp.  I have yet to hear anything like it.
Seeking ideas about how to improve my system
@jeankunin, I know what you are experiencing.  At one point I heard a $2K tube system that I found more listenable and accurate that the much higher priced system I had at home.  I had long list of different components I kept switching out until I...
PS Audio P15 Power Regen versus Ansuz Mainz8 DTC Power Distributor
For sure always try to demo if possible.  Everything is about synergy with your existing components and personal preference. As @tablejockey mentioned the PS is an active regenerator and the Ansuz is passive.  If you have any power quality concerns...
Seeking ideas about how to improve my system
Have you considered trying out any other speaker cables?  In my opinion it could be your weakest link.  I had the Rocket 88’s a while ago, then upgraded to AQ’s higher line (higher gauge copper) which produced a far larger range from treble to bas...
Luxman tonality
From my experience the 509X is as neutral as it gets.  Very smooth and crisp, never fatiguing. Only thing I thought it somewhat lacked in my setup was the mid-bass and bass.  I demoed a Vitus RI-101 side by side and with the Vitus it felt like I a...
Does Power Cord Require Burn-In To Sound Good?
It really depends on the cable.  I have had cables that break in had little to no impact.  Yet with others they sounded close off when first plugging them in and after 100+ hours they opened up quite a bit.
10agw +10agw=7agw? need some big Banana's
There are new connectors from AQ that accommodate thicker gauge cables.  All their new speaker cables combine a separate treble and bass cable for bi-wiring.  If your dealer is an authorized AQ dealer he can order those for you.
My Oppo is a bit too bright
If I am not mistaken, Vitus uses ESS chips in their RI-101 and SIA-030 integrated amp DACs.  Furthest from bright you can get.  Goes to show it’s all about the implementation.
Audioquest Firebird Zero
@ctsooner you can always send the Hurricanes back to AQ to get re-terminated for a small fee, it's a simple process.
Audioquest Firebird Zero
I would imagine there should be a big difference between using just the Zero cable vs. adding the bass cable. You are essentially adding more copper and splitting bass from Treble/Mids.While I liked the Thunderbird Zero cables, I always wondered h...
D'agostino amplifiers: where's the beef?
Let's not forget to factor in the level of R&D that goes into building these things.  Even as simple as a heat sink can take 6-12 months to get right.  If I was to guess (and I could be wrong) the copper used in the chassis is for more than ju...
