Left center and right center speakers
A great center channel speaker can really help with the imaging regardless of seating location, but not all center channels are the same. 3-way centers tend to be a lot better than 2-ways because the dedicated midrange in the middle of the speaker...
Stored, used, crossover capacitor burn in / reforming time
My experience with MPP speaker caps (Mundorfs) was 48 hours.  Had some really interesting surround sound effects until that was over.
Pleasurably better, not measurably better
It is funny when trying to discuss any subject with nuance how many will misread the intention or position of the OP (i.e. me). I’m not saying measurements are not useful, I’m declaring what makes them useful is when they serve the purpose of enh...
Ground voltage!!
Here, get this and see what it tells you.  AFAIK it is the cheapest 3 prong tester which has built-in neutral to ground (N-E) voltage measurements:
Pleasurably better, not measurably better
But most people find certain distortions are grating. There is decades of research, that I do not want to just ignore. I think what most people ignore is that many measurements were done for convenience, or to ensure equitable comparisons betw...
Pleasurably better, not measurably better
I heard some speaker with the low distortion Purifi drivers, and they were pretty outstanding, so it is not like accuracy and low distortion is bad…    No, I'm not saying they are either, but that no oscilloscope or calibrated microphone knows...
Ground voltage!!
This is a big deal and you should have it fixed ASAP.
Boutique caps in oil... reliable?
Thanks for the recommendations. The complexity for me is not the high pass filter. It’s a circuit that works on the AVR’s 12V trigger and lets me integrate the sub into both the Anthem AVR and Luxman Integrated.  I think I pretty much have it figu...
Boutique caps in oil... reliable?
Well my applications are in speaker crossovers as well as line level high pass filters. Right now I am prototyping a little switch that will let me: Switch my HT preamp outs to my Luxman without my need to use the Luxman’s bypass switch High ...
Isolated ground in dedicated room/new construction?
All of the electrical grounds in a home must be bonded to the same ground point.  You’ll be violating all sorts of safety codes if you attempt to do otherwise and they are there for good reason.  What you can do is dedicate grounds for your outle...
Dropouts when steaming with WiFi connection (Amazon Music).
Hey, important to use a Wifi analyzer (available for smart phones and laptops) to not only tell you how strong of a connection you have but how much contention for the same wifi channel. I’ve seen even expensive routers set to "auto" will cluster ...
Phantom Violin Notes
It doesn’t seem hard for a loudspeaker to produce this, though because it is akin to inter modulation distortion, a speaker with lower distortion would do better. Would be nice if the article included an idea of the Hz of the CT relative to the o...
DSP vs New Cables ??
Stepping back from the OP’s question of specifically DSP, I think there’s more to this. The issue really is that most listeners (queue the "not me" trolls) are most sensitive to frequency response variations. In this sense cables are on the low en...
Bi amping my ML SL3 speakers
Personally I think you are overthinking it and mixing kind of OK amplifiers. Get 1 solid amp and you'll be happier. The issue with ESL's is that they are low impedance at the worst place (high frequencies) where even solid state amps tend to be g...
Magico M9 The new 'norm' in speakers
Anhthig that tall that isnt a line array is probably garbage What, me troll?  Never.
